1- Turn off unit. 2- press and hold the bottom right corner of the screen. 3-While still pressing and holding bottom right corner, press and hold power button and continue holding both until a white screen appears with a black dot. 4- follow the on screen directions and your unit will be back to the day you first got it.
Usually when you see low battery like that it means the battery itself needs to be replaced at it can't hold a charge or enough of a charge to be usefull. If you unit is over 18-24 months old then th e battery is most likely the problem. This will happen even if you have always used external power as the battery doesn;t get properlly cycled enough.
It is possible that it is the power source you are using is too low but sounds more like the battery is the problem.
If you have warrenty the battery should be replaced by Magellan. If not a replacement battery is about $30 and is something you may be able to do. You need to remove the back cover and unplug the old battery and plug in the new one and put it all back together.

i would go www.magellangps.com and download them from the website directly to your computer. Then your gps should have a memory card reader of some sort. You can take your memory card and the updates you downloaded and then you load the updates from the memory card. .
you will have to go to magellan.com & order the 2008/2009 map update. it costs a hundred bucks unless you are a caa member, then they knock off 25% or so. You can't burn a copy because they need a special code to make sure you bought it legally. Pretty smart. I just got mine & am trying to get it loaded now.
Good luck
