Air and petrol mix in caburater cause of sucking pressure by the piston when intake stroke (intake valve remain open) then the piston move up to tdc(top dead center) that call compression stroke (at this time both valve remain closed) and just before the piston reach the tdc the plug stat to ignite and the detonation is the power stroke and push down the piston and the piston come up again as the exaust stroke. that is a little bit information

Peugeot Partner van, UK 61 reg. Where is the fuel pump on my van please?

Question edited for clarity.

The fuel or feed pump is intended to supply the carburettor in your Peugeot PARTNER ORIGIN with petrol. The fuel pump is situated in the fuel tank. It is completely submerged in petrol and linked by a pipe to the high-pressure injection pipe in the engine.

Fuel Pump for Peugeot PARTNER ORIGIN - Mister-auto.ie

Always hidden in the tank. There is a filter you can check as well.

our cars usa that filter is in the tank part of the fuel pump..
by EPA.gov law in fact.
engine cranks fast? but if burns petrol is spark dead>?
fuel can not burn if the is no spark unless it is a diesel and no enigine told , see? and spark is first test not FUEL.

2001 (old cars love to fail and in many ways)
one version burns CNG. (natural gas) + 4 tanks of fuel,

Magnum 3.9 L 175 hp (130 kW) V6 petrol all but CNG./
Magnum 5.2 L 230 hp (170 kW) V8

also we do not support cars below the equator.

I need a diagram to show me the routing of the petrol pipes on a citroen c3 from the petrol tank to the engine and back to the petrol tank please?

the fuel is constantly rotating round the fuel lines, the fuel is pressurized, so any fuel that is not used by the injectors is sent back to the tank.. this give a constant flow and pressure to the tank. the pressure in the tank is regulated by the pressure relay that lets air into the tank to lower the pressure. this is regulated by the ecu and your speed. if the pressure drops or is to high in the tank the engine can cut out on the fuel rail there is a fuel pressure regulator this keeps pressure on the fuel line coming into the injection system. some systems have duel line feeds from the tank for 2 rail systems, this system was not reliable due to the amount of feed pressure needed to fuel 2 lines. and can cause pressure leaks. some systems have a pressure regulator controlled by the ecu on the return line, this is more fuel efficient as it keeps the fuel at a steadier flow back to the tank and give a better fuel spray into the engine. hope this help you.

No fuel getting through to engine

If you continued to attempt to start the car after running out of fuel the fuel pump may have been damaged. The petrol in the tank acts as a coolant on the fuel pump and when the tank is empty if the starter is continuously engaged it can overheat and burn out the pump.

I have a 2003 ford focus,2.01 ltr. engine:problem is, I have to always keep the tank full cuz when it reaches 3 quarters of a tank it starts running rough, the check engine lite comes on then it dies until...

Look at your gas cap. There is a seal. You are looking for cracks that will allow air into the tank. This causes the vacumn that captures fuel fumes to not occur. The empty tank gives a larger volume to have to lower the pressure making the problem show up.

Petrol put into diesel car now it wont start

Drain all the petrol on your tank and so on the injection pump by pumping it. Open or loosen small tube going into the engine from the injection pump, to drain all petrol.

Make sure that petrol are remove from the engine fuel system, change fuel filter also. After removal bleed the engine.

Fuel gauge is not detecting the correct level of petrol in tank. Suspect it may be a fuse, however the fuse diagram/ layout is missing... where can I download one? Mercedes Benz C180K 2004 model.

it is not a fuse. when a fuse burns, it never works again. look for broken/loose wires/connection around the fuel tank. usually, the problem is just a bad ground. the other solution is that maybe your fuel sending unit is faulty, test first, change if necessary

Mistakinly put 50 litres diesel in my almost empty petrol tank

The first thing i'd tell you is to not run the engine at all before fixing this if possible. Diesel fuel doesn't burn very good in a gasoline engine, if at all... There is not enough compression in a gas engine to get the diesel hot enough to burn, even with a spark plug.

There is a few ways to go about this but the easiest one is to find and disconnect the line coming from the gas tank to the engine, as close to the fuel pump as possible (preferably before the filter) and route it to an empty container, then jump 12V to the fuel pump motor terminals, or jump the fuel pump relay terminals (to get the pump running) and let it pump the diesel fuel out in the container...

As a precaution I'd change the fuel filter after this, fill the tank back up with clean gasoline, and give the car a good run... You can expect the engine to smoke and run bad for a little while, as there will still be a little diesel going through.

As for the cost to get it done, I really couldn't give you a straight answer... They could do it like I said or another way (drop the gas tank...) It's not that hard to do if you do it yourself or find someone you know who can do it or a good "backyard" mechanic, but I'm sure some of the shops out there could write up a nice repair bill for this...
