have you tried adjusting it first where it connects to the handle should be a screw with a round nut on it pull back on this screw nut towards handle to remove is opposite
Not adjustable attached to the underside of the lever, remove from clutch some switches are cliped together in 2 halves & will split in half if you release the clips others wont, spray a little thin oil around switch if problem continues replace
First, try the cable adjustment at the lever end, if no more movement re-adjust inwards, then adjust at the clutch end.
If no joy, then it is either the lifter mechanism or the clutch its self.

Difficulty in selecting neutral is most likely due to clutch drag. Does the bike jump forwards when you select first gear? This could be due to dry or wrongly adjusted clutch cable. Another though less likely cause could be weak clutch springs or a worn clutch basket. Aim for about 5mm free play at clutch lever.
