The dash is indicating a fault code. I believe it is "fi", rather than an F1 light.
There is a plug connection in the ducktail that a $30 Suzuki switch that can be used to put the dash readout into a different mode. This will give the code for what is wrong with the bike.
have you done a cross wire test, under the back seat a white plug rubber jacket on it, pull off blk rubber, use a hair grip scraped on the concrete, fit into the two terminals that have wires, and the f1 on dash will change and give a code, if you need the codes let me know.
The fuel system sensors have detected a problem. You can check you fuel pump fuse, sometimes that is it, other than that you need to check the codes to see what it is. Hope this helps.
The FI light refers to F uel I njection. The sensors on the fuel injection system have detected a problem. It could be anything from a dirty air filter to fuel mapping errors. You need to take the bike to a dealer and have them hook up a code reader. The reader will tell what problem has been detected. Then you can decide if you want to fix it yourself or if the dealer should do the repair. Could you take a moment and rate my answer. Thanks.
