Try looking for leaks in the rubber that joins the carb to the cylinder, easiest way to do this is spray a bit of easy start around the rubber area when cranking the engine over. try squirting a bit of easystart into the airbox air intake first to see if it will start with that first, if it does then you need to look at your carb settings as per manual.

A service manual is a valuable tool with an aging bike. I suggest the dealer/mfr. or Clymer books. In the meantime, go to the library reference section...646 stacks should have what you need.

A very dirty air filter is a possibility. More likely is water, ( from condensation in the gas tank ), has filled the float bowl. Drain the float bowl and put in a new spark plug.

Have a Husqvana petrol chainsaw that i ran at the weekend on unleaded petrol (forgot oil additive!) and now it wont start. Have drained out the fuel and now put right mix in (50:1). still wont fire. any...

Your saws piston is probably shot. To check remove the exhaust, to do this remove the retaining bolts and take the exhaust off. remember the order you take off the parts! When the exhaust is removed slowly pull the saw over (with the on off switch off) look at the piston as you do this. If there is any visible scoring the saw is unfortunatly knackered. You can replace the pot and piston but it's usually expensive!!
