I would say that the starter needs an overhaul and a clean out and relube. Be careful when lubricating the shaft, If the oil is the least bit thick or too heavily applied the pinion will hang up. For the rest, starting the bile is just a case of getting the sequence of the start right for that machine. When I got my Velocette (500 cc single) very long ago, it took me over half an hour to start the first morning, and no electric starters. Soon I was starting it first kick every time.
knowing a husky of that size i would say alot, what exactly is wrong with the engine because you may be able to save money if you tell me what is wrong with it?
"...but its still under warranty so why waist my time." No truer words ever spoken. Tell the dealer you want to know what caused the problem, (for future reference).
It can be done, but will cost an arm and a leg. The main casings will have to be replaced. This means the motor will have to split and rebuit.
I would suggest that you give the motor a good service. This means doing the shims as well.
This is a good motor, and generally do not suffer from starting issues.
If you stuggle, let your local dealer do the necessary servicing.
