If you are turning the bike on before turning the alarm off that will happen. If not check and make sure that the connection for the alarm has not come loose.
first check fuse box crank fuses 1 and 2 then check for loose battery conections both hot and ground if all tight turn on head lights if head lights cut on try crank see if lights dim either faulty solenoid or starter brushes if still nothing check nuetral safetey switch and pull starter to have checked
Hi, Sounds like you have a bad ignition switch. Also check alternator, so that battery is charging.
Do a test for me, start engine disconnect battery. If alternator is working you should have light and horn. Stop, engine reconnect battery. This will give you a better idea where the problem lies.
Good luck.
If you suspect the battery you can jump the bike from a car battery. Do not have the car running, 12volt to 12volt, do not crank the starter too long or your could burn out the starter. If the bike still does not start and the lights still flicker you probably have dirty contacts in your kill switch or more likely the ignition switch.Take the switches apart and clean them or replace them. Also corrosion can be an issue where ever two wires are connected in the harness. Systematically unplug and replug all the harness connections and concentrate on the plugs around the head light bucket and battery (flickering nuetral light). Remember a simple dirty battery connection will stop any vehicle in its tracks.
HI, SOUNDS LIKE THE IMOBILISER HAS NOT TURNED OFF, YOU HAVE NOW RECHARGED THE BATERY, I WOULD THINK THAT THE BATERY INSIDE THE ALARM UNIT IS ALSO FLAT, CHECK THE FUSE FITTED TO THE ALARM HARNES , IT COULD BE YOU HAVE DISCONECTED A WIRE OR BLOWN A FUSE WHEN REPLACING THE BATERY, RE CHECK ALL CUT OFF SWITCHES, SIDE STAND IN THE UP POSITION, AND ALSO TRY RESETING THE IMOBILISER
Try jumping the solenoid, pull the actuator wire off the solenoid(the small one)This will engage the starter so make sure your in nuetral or park, run a wire from the solenoid actuator to the positive battery post,if the starter engages your ignition switch or starter relay have become faulty,if the starter does'nt engage the solenoid has gone bad.Post back if you need more help.
Sort of sounds like a Twilight Zone kind of problem doesn't it. I would have the battery checked for an internal dead short. This is something that happens on odd occasions and can happen even to a new battery. Yea, the little lights will work ( they do not draw much juice ), but the starter motor draws a lot of juice and a shorted battery just ain't got it. Also check the wiring harness connections. One loose connection can cause bunches of trouble.
