I had this with a Yamaha 900 it was the Ignition switch broken inside. I fixed my switch and all was well, you may need to replace new switch

Convert camshaft sensor of 4zz has 3 pins to engine of 1zz has 2 pin

wild engine swaps topic, SURE SOME SECRET TOYOTA model.
pin count are not the TOP clue (yes doing it wrong)
no car told or years, (both)

sensors come like this
HALL and mag coil. the can NOT be mixed, !
Hall is 5vdc sensor , has a power pin , signal and ground(3 pins)
a 4 pin is ground shield pin to stop noise (yes 1 or 2 grounds HALL)
a MAG coil is not true electronic like HALL is, it is just coil inside
and MAg COIL HAS 2pins OR 3 PIN 2 FOR COIL AND 1 FOR GROUND IF PRESENT, this signals are super tiny on mAG
for sure crarked and idle RPM. the PCM that needs HALL here is going to fail HARD (CMP hard nut errors)

THAT ENGINE SWAP WILL NEVER MAKE THE PCM HAPPY
EVER.
1zz-XYZ, NO XYZ TOLD (FE)_ 1.8L ? (1998:)?
4ZZ-XYZ NO XYZ TOLD (fe) 1.4l (2002 TO 2007)_
GOT VVT, yes , that too fails. PCM wrong.
tell the 2 cars, and get better answers
years and country .
not told.

2002 cavalier 2.2 cuts out at 4000 rpm

The 2.2 or the 2.4 neither one has RPM limiter. On these vehicle when the timing chain goes, you end up taking out a valve. If your timing chain is out of timing it will do exactly what you describe, now the pecking noise if that is a valve it will do exactly also

Wont start - appears to have no spark

Have you checked the "clutch safety switch"? It should be at the base of the clutch pedal, or mounted on the trans by the slave cyl. (If it's a hydraulic clutch)

My r1150rt, 2004 with 7000 miles on the clock and just serviced seems to lack power momenterally when accelerated between 3000 & 4000 rpm. It is as if there were a lack of either spark of fuel for a second...

This sounds like the hall effect sensors to me, this is what happend to me I changed plugs, leads and the coils, in the end it was the sensors, if you need to know where to get the sensors from let me know. This is a comon fault with this bike
