How do you set up a DT125R power valve ? 2003 model.big flat spot above 5000 rpm is it the power valve or something else

the only way to fix the problem would be to upgrade your endcan or or carbs.it is a problem with all 650 dakers.just needs tunning up.hope this helps

Jet size would depend which carb is installed, a Dellorto 34mm?

Initially, check the sparkplug tip colors. If very light brown to almost whitish, then lean mix; too much air, too little gas. Try raising the needle if if has notches and moving the e-clip. If fixed, use small thin washers. The basic idea is to make the needle rise early on throttle movement.

If an aftermarket open breather air filter is installed, then it would be causing the lean mix, too much air. Restrict the filter by adding temporarily upholstery foam to experiment at which thickness the flatspot would disappear.

had the same problem, all i needed to do was change the sperk plug! nearly stripped the bike right down aswel!

Flat spot between 5000 & 6500 rpm

Has something to do with you timing and valve adjustement. Get it tuned the way it supposed to. Or just get performance. Its hitting a flat spot because the valve are floating inside the case when it goes too fast and doesn't have the proper performance added to the inside components.Have to have the right components to fit together correctly for the exact way you want your bike to run.

The 2003 Yamaha YZ450F is a big-bore, air-cooled two-stroke motorcycle. It was first introduced in 2001 and was the replacement for the 2000 model year YZ450F. The engine displacement has remained at 450cc since then. Sounds like either the bike is starving for gas at higher RPM's, or you're hitting the rev limiter.

Do i turn my power valve clockwise or anticlockwise to open it on a dtr 125 2003 model

if you are turning to open up the valve for more power then you are making a mistake. power valves open the upper exhaust ports to allow the exhaust gas to exit faster being pulled by the exhaust pulses from the expansion chamber. by opening it and setting it in the fully open position would rob the engine of all its low down power making the bike useless below 5000 rpm which is where your power valve would start to open, it would also waste fuel as it would be sucked straight into the ex possible causing lean running conditions .

the only way to fix the problem would be to upgrade your endcan or or carbs.it is a problem with all 650 dakers.just needs tunning up.hope this helps

Kia Sedona 2003 shaking motor

Have a cylinder leakdown test done...likely they missed another bent valve. I'm betting it's an exahust, because it would be less drivable if it was an intake, but regardless, I'll bet that is your problem.
