Instrument lost all functions exept speedometer and tacho

When I press any button on the instrument the neutral light goes off and the engine light comes on instead. All buttons react the same. A clear click is heard when buttons are pressed, as expected. The tachometer and speedometer works but it is not possible to select any functions such as setting the clock. The functionwindow only shows the time since battery was connected. When I push the two buttons to set the clock, the zero in the speedometer window changes to the digit one. The problem began when the regulator broke down. The regulator and battery is replaced and the alarm is disconnected. But the problem remains. Has anyone seen anything similar?

It might seem obvious that the instrument assembly has to be replaced. But looking at the wiring schema the cause of the behavior can be in the harness or elsewhere. If I by a new instrument assembly and it don?t solve the problem I?ve lost a good sum of $904 plus VAT and shipping.
So it would be nice if someone has solved a similar problem and would like to share.
I set my hope on that most problems occur on more than one bike of a certain brand and model.

SOURCE: Instrument panel bulb removal

Push the rubber boot forward from behind and the bulb glass cover should pop out from the front of the instrument panel with a little prying with your finger tip. You don't have to push it far, just enough for the cover to pop out of the lip. Then you will be able to remove the bulb. I then use needle nose pliers to remove the bulb.

SOURCE: neutral light goes out when warm

The sidestand kill switch is working properly, no issue there. I would try a can of freeze spray when the neutral light is out and attempt to cool various points in the circuit. Pay particular attention to where the sensor wiring enters the rest of the wiring harness or the fusebox area, I suspect a broken wire.

SOURCE: Triumph Trident Starting

ok, there is two possibly problems u could be experiencing. ONE: would be a worn out solenoid(needs to be replaced) or TWO: the starter bruckes are worn out so far that it is actually grounding out or they are not conecting to the armature in the starter. this is a relatively easy fix, but to try to find the parts s another story. i would recomend taking it to ur local dealer or a starter repair shop. they will be able to get the parts and fix it for u. my dad works at a starter/alternator repair shop here in chatham ontario.

Ok i see, Have you checked the bike battery? is it charged or has the alarm worn it down? One thing about bike alarms is that they constantly drain power from the bike battery when the alarm is armed on not. If you ride your bike every days no problems , if you ride on week ends only you could find yourself in this predicament again so, on the alarm wiring you should be able to locate the power supply to it from your bike battery, this wire will have a fuse in it so check the fuse too , and if you want to keep it off because your done with alarms, then just leave the fuse out and you should be back in business. If your bike won't start because the alarm has an immobilizer , to remove it would be easy if you know where it is connected to, in your case the ignition which, there should be evidence of where they connected it and it will require you to remove your tank and seat for access so be prepared to get the tools out , the immobilizer is usually connected directly to either the harness or the ignition switch, unfortunately to find the connection point will be difficult because each alarm installer hides his wires differently so , your gonna have fun locating them, your best bet is to check your bike battery , should be 12 volts or better if it reads 10 or 11 volts or less , get a new bike battery to get the bike going and take it to your local triumph store, the mechanics there no those bikes inside out ,   The alarms we have here do the same thing , i also have a triumph , (rocket 111) i have had the pleasure of riding the TT600 , a very fun bike to ride, the way i see it , if they can steel it and they can't find it , my insurance will get a call, I've had alarms in the past and believe me their more trouble than their worth,
I hope i helped and not driven you crazy, lol ride safe :)

What is the location of fuse for speedometer on 2o04 ford explorer

Speedometer The instrument cluster receives the vehicle speed sensor (VSS) signal from the powertrain control module (PCM) through the standard corporate protocol (SCP) communication network. The instrument cluster monitors the VSS input from the PCM and commands the speedometer with a corresponding movement of the pointer.
  • The speedometer/odometer is inoperative
  • Circuitry.
  • Powertrain control module (PCM).
  • Instrument cluster.
  • Go To Pinpoint Test L .
PINPOINT TEST L: THE SPEEDOMETER/ODOMETER IS INOPERATIVE Test Step Result / Action to Take L1 RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DTCS FROM BOTH CONTINUOUS AND ON-DEMAND INSTRUMENT CLUSTER SELF-TESTS
  • Use the recorded instrument cluster DTCs from the continuous and on-demand self-tests.
  • Are any instrument cluster DTCs recorded?
Yes
If instrument cluster U1123 is retrieved, REFER to Powertrain Control/Emissions Diagnosis (PC/ED) manual to continue diagnosis.

For all other instrument cluster DTCs, REFER to the Instrument Cluster Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Index.

No
For inoperative speedometer, GO to L2 .

For inoperative odometer, GO to L3 . L2 CARRY OUT THE SPEEDOMETER ACTIVE COMMAND USING THE DIAGNOSTIC TOOL
  • Connect the diagnostic tool.
  • Key in ON position.
  • Enter the following diagnostic mode on the diagnostic tool: Instrument Cluster Active Command.
  • Select the instrument cluster speedometer active command.
  • Trigger the speedometer and scroll in increments of 10% while monitoring the speedometer. The speedometer should increase in increments of approximately 20 km/h (12 mph) for each 10% change.
  • Does the speedometer increase within specifications?
Yes
REFER to Powertrain Control/Emissions Diagnosis (PC/ED) manual to continue diagnosis.

No
GO to L4 . L3 MONITOR THE INTEGRATED CIRCUIT DISPLAYS
  • Key in ON position.
  • Monitor the compass, air temperature and message center functions of the integrated circuit display.
  • Do the compass, air temperature or message center displays operate correctly?
Yes
GO to L4 .

No
Go To Pinpoint Test AE . L4 CHECK FOR CORRECT INSTRUMENT CLUSTER OPERATION
  • Disconnect all instrument cluster connectors.
  • Check for:
    • corrosion
    • pushed-out pins
  • Connect all instrument cluster connectors and make sure they seat correctly.
  • Operate the system and verify the concern is still present.
  • Is the concern still present?
Yes
INSTALL a new instrument cluster. REFER to Instrument Cluster in this section. TEST the system for normal operation.

No
The system is operating correctly at this time. The concern may have been caused by a loose or corroded connector. CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test. There isn't a fuse just for the speedometer , there are four fuse for the whole instrument cluster . If one of these fuse's were burnt you would have more then just the speedometer not working ! You need to have a scan tool to find out what is up ! you could need a new cluster ! Is the check engine light on ? if not wouldn't think vehicle speed sensor bad , besides speed info for speedometer PCM uses for transmission shift points ! Good luck ,hope this helps !

Yamaha yfz r125 engine light on constantly, but engine runs ok

Close but not quite.
ECU handles tacho not speedo.
Speedo has it's own pickup usually on rear wheel hub or hall sensor on output shaft if not flexible cable direct drive from front wheel

Reset t/belt light

Have you got a rubber grommet in the instrument display (where the speedo and tacho is) about at the same level as the trip meter reset?

If yes then remove the grommet and there is a very small button if you straighten a paper clip and use it to just press the small button that should reset the T-belt light

1997 CE Lancer speedometer

i had the same problem on my g/f's 2000 lancer GLXi, (with tacho),
i fixed the problem by putting a jump wire on the back of the instrument cluster,
the fault was in the wiring to the tacho part & i drew up my own wiring diagrams for the cluster unit,
then traced the fault,
looking @ the back of the cluster unit, the top right hand screw for the speedometer,,, follow the track on the circuit-board, there is a link wire UNDER the board (there is a dotted line on top where it goes, i think its the left 1,,, there is 2) this track then goes to the bottom left screw on the tacho,,,
i soldered a small gauge wire from the bottom of the link solder joint (MAKE SURE ITS THE CORRECT LINK, THERE IS 2 SIDE BY SIDE) to the bottom right track on the vertical plug socket (its common pos for the warning lights) this is where the "MIRAGE" & other "CE LANCER" (without tacho) gets its speedometer & gauges power from,

kind regards waz
if anyone needs a photo i will pull out the dash again lol its only 6 screws
