2003 kawasaki 125 two stroke engine. Bike wont kick start or idle , it will coast start.Engine was completely rebuilt this spring and has only a few running hours . We have changed spark plug and air filter is clean . It does run fine when you coast start it but it will not kick start or idle.
First drain the carby, then set your air mixture screw 2 turns out, from the fully turned in position. The starting proceedure is as follows, when the engine is COLD, turn on fuel, pull on the choke fully, and kick the engine over. DO NOT use any throttle, when the engine is cold, and the choke is on. Remember Choke on, NO throttle.
When warm, no choke, and a little throttle when kicking.
sounds like it could be a plugged pilot jet, clean the carb extremely well, the pilot circuit is the smallest passage in your carb and usually takes nothing at all to get plugged. if you keep driving it by coast starting while the pilot jet is clogged it will cause the engine to run lean, will sound really nice and have lots of power until there is a nice hole in the top of your piston :) cant be too safe, rebuilds aren't cheap
