If everything else works ok, the vehicle drives normally, and all the other gauges are working then you may have a bad speedometer servo motor. This servo is what actually moves the speedometer needle to match the speed you are driving at. The cluster would need to come out and be repaired to fix this problem if this is the case.
This is commonly caused by failing gauge motors on the circuit board of the instrument cluster. It is repairable though, check this page for more on it - Tahoe Speedometer Repair
This is really common on the 03-06 Yukon instrument clusters. It's caused by failing stepper motors on the circuit board and can be repaired. Check out this page for more about it and how to get it fixed - Yukon instrument cluster repair
Jim, you will need to replace the heating element and most likely once this has been replaced, your ice maker should work properly unless the ice broke another part on your ice maker.
There are actually two gears that you need to replace, a large one and then smaller one that rides inside it. You can purchase them both at www.fcpgroton.com These can also sometimes affect the operation of your speedometer. Do you by chance have an ABS and TRACS light on? If so the speedometer issue may be related to your ABS controller.
Try replacing light bulbs and flasher which may correct the turn signals. Check all fuses, however as for the speedometer, the plastic clogs or wheels have run their course, If you intend to replace these, suggest you purchase a repair manual for your vehicle.
You don't say whether the speedometer has also stopped working. If it
is still working, then it's an internal problem in the speedometer unit
which will likely need to be replaced.
If the speedometer has also stopped, it's often the speedometer cable that has failed; have the cable checked (it could come out of its socket at either end, or be broken). This is a much less costly repair than replacing the speedometer unit.
Often the old cable can be pulled from the sleeve, leaving the sleeve in place, and a new one pushed into the old sleeve to replace the defective cable.
