Check compression of cylinders, all should be close the same. Swap spark plugs and check if problem cylinder moved. If bike sits for long periods of time then most likely it will be a plugged carburetor.

I am in the same boat. For me, it's a 1977 Suzuki GS550 that I just swapped out for new plugs and oil filter. The #3 plug was oily, and even after the swap, the #3 exhaust pipe isn't running as hot as the others. I haven't touched the carberator yet, as I'm waiting for the manual (this is my first bike).

Suzuki gsf 600 s bandit. 2004 k4.just cut out and won't start. Bike is dead but there is power to lights ext.

First thing make sure there is a spark in the spark plugs. If you know how to do it- good. If you don't- ask me. if spar is there but bike won't start, then problem could be in fuel delivery (tap, filter, obstructed fuel lines ext.) could be fuel delivery. Good luck.

I have 2007 suzuki intruder the front spark plug was replaced 3 times due to intermitant spark. Each time i check the spark plug no spark then replace the plug then spark then runs for short period the No 1...

Fouling of the spark plug makes the exhaust extremely hot due to the burning of the fuel mixture inside the exhaust pipe and the spark plug end turn to black, fouling of the spark plug may be due to too rich fuel mixture check the correct setting of the air valve.

Suzuki bandit 400vc hard starting been to mechanic . do carb overhaul and carb synch but still hard starting. . already change the starter motor nothing happens . . everytime i push start button nothing...

You only have 2 ways to go......1. fuel .....2. spark, if your cranking your bike, first off try this. crank it with no choke . if nothing happens , take your choke pull it all the way out, now crank it.
if it fires, push choke half way in, continue to crank, it should start . If nothing happens a all .

You have to pull out spark plugs, look at them closely . Is it soaked with gas ? or is it dry as a bone ? if it is soaked with gas, clean it up and dry it off, now check your gap it should be alright
but just check it anyways if the gap is to much it will not fire inside the cyclinder, if it is closed
to much it will not fire . take your plug put it back in just the plug wire and rest it up against the
head or any metal surface, now crank your bike if it has a good blue spark your good with the
electrial check both plugs same way . Now if that is ok , then you have to move on to the fuel.
if you have new clean fuel, good , if it is old like lat years get rid of it . drain everything tank and
all of your fuel filters replace, make sure all of your lines are flowing and carb will clean them self.
give it a little bit after it starts running be gentle with let everything catch up. If it needs final

adjustment on carbs take it back to who ever rebuilt them . Good Luck

I have a 1981 suzuki gs 750 engine on a quad. i finally got it running but it runs poorly. i cleaned the carbs twice and put new spark plugs in it. its running on the two cyclinders that farthest away from...

Is the fuel tank located above the carburetors at about the same level as the original bike? If not, you may have to install an electric fuel pump to get the pressure at the carburetors about the same as the original bike (guessing about 1-1/2 to 3 PSI). I assume that you have checked things like firing order, timing, throttle slide balance, compression, and equivalent exhaust system. Did you see and hear the engine run before you installed it into the quad chassis? Hope some of this helps!

2004 Suzuki GSX won't start. It turns over but engine won't start. What could be the problem?

spark, fuel, battery, or compression. first make sure you battery is reading 12.4v or > if not the battery is going dead if more than three years old it suspect. next take #1 spark plug out and let it touch the frame of the bike and look to see if you have a "big bluish spark"not a "reddish-purple"..if you got reddish purple the problem is pulse generator circuit need to be ohm'd out for opens and the correct ohm reading of approx. 450 to500 ohms.
next fuel filter should be cleaned up or better yet just change it out.
next this is how i check compression with out a gauge. you ready for this.
Put bike in neutral, turn key to on, push down the street really fast and pull in the clutch in, and push down into first and then pop the clutch at the same time you *** hit the seat! if it runs but run crappy then park it and shut it off and drive over to Autozone and purchase a can of Sea Foam $10 and pour 1/3 can to 2gallons of fuel ....now push start the bike again an with it running rough. you might have to go 10to15 mikes before that stuff will work its way through your fuel injector system. if thisworks can i get a veryhelpful! thanks!

Hard to start, new bike only 20 miles carb clean valves correct comp good great spark.all work done by factory suzuki tech. dealersphip stmppppped! new bike should run

If you have a good spark and fuel is getting to the cylinders ,check commpression .If compression is good ,Try rubbing pencil lead over plug points ,( This will give a greater spark ) or heat up plugs on gas ring till hot and replace quickly while plugs still hot ..Don't forget to wear gloves.Get a friend to help .and cut down the time of putting plugs back in engine .
