There are two model types. Those that run with batteries (gas and electric model)., and those that have no battery (gas types)
On some of these the battery is located under the storage compartment in the seat. Lift the storage compartment to reveal the battery. On some you may have to remove the rear tire to access the battery.
The non battery types don't need a battery, but run off of a magneto, a small generator when the engine is running. That's how the spark plugs are fired on all vehicles that don't actually have battery. Like a lawn mower for example.
If you can't locate a battery, your scooter probably runs on magneto.
