dont give it so much gas if the choke is on just kick it or maybe take your carb off and set the float right

Kinda sounds like your needle valve is sticking in your carb and it is giving it to much fuel

    Did this help you out?

Now i had the same problem with my bike a few weeks ago. Got 3 of these bikes and this one always does this after a top end build. Got spark, fuel, loads of compression but just wil not fire. The other two bikes start up fine every time.

Solution, towed it for about 100 yards with the Van and boom, off it went. Let it clear and settle down for a while, then shut it down. Let it cool and it fired up first kick no problems. It has fired up first kick everytime since. Weird one, but always does this and still never worked out why.

I need directions on how to install a top end kit on a yz 85

top ends are easy and you can do it without the manual. however i strongly recommend that you get a manual so you have ALL the correct torque specs and procedure for doing the job right the first time. the service manual has all the info for every aspect your bikes service needs.

No problem just done top end rebuild

Just ride it normally. Avoid super high revs when the bike is not in gear and using the power.

Please rate this solution. Thanks bookerm!

1997 yz 125 wont start, please help

2 stroke bike are very dependent on compression. and being a bike that is 12 years old my best educated guess is that the top end needs to be rebuilt. i usually have to have the top end done on my honda about every three years.
