I'd say that you have an intermittant short somewhere. These are very difficult to find. I'd start at the tail light assembly as most of the time, I've found the shorts in that area, from the seat back to the tail light assembly.

Good Luck

The (cheap replacement) cigarette lighter in my 04 electraglide causes me same problem. I quit using it. I have a ford lighter assembly I'm gonna try next time I change radios.

Hi, Gary for this scenario you will need your service manual that has all fastener torque specs and a wiring diagram on the back pages, parts fiche, and owners manual if you can not find the best tool you ever bought for your Harley, despair not, for a mere zero $0 you can download another one.

My accessory fuse blows on my 2005 harley davidson electra glide?

Hi, Richard you have a dead short which is usually the easiest to find. Using a test light connected to the hot side of the blown fuse holder, start probing the wire leaving the fuse holder about an inch away the test light should illuminate, keep probing towards the ignition switch until the test light no longer illuminates you are now very close to the short. I have a 02 electral glide ultra classic that keeps blowing the accessories fuse. as soon as i put a new 15 amp fuse in it blows. turn signals, brake lights and the spped odometer stop working.

In this case, you're going to need a wiring schematic to trouble shoot the problem. You'll have to disconnect the power lead to each device that the fuse provides power to. Then, replace the fuse and start reconnecting the devices one at the time. When you connect a device and the fuse blows, you have found the problem. I do not have schematics for bikes newer than 1999, I'm sorry.

Good Luck

2005 ultra blows the accessory 15 amp fuse when I push the right turn signal button. Any ideas?

Sounds like you've got a short in your right turn signal wiring. You need to check out the switch and the wiring between the power source for the switch and the turn signal canceling unit.

Good Luck

I have a red key light and I have lost my turn signals and brake lights. I have running lights, head lights, cruise, spots and my security is working. The #2 fuse is blown, but when I change it it blows...

Sounds like bad brake light swich/sending unit. The one attached to master cyclinder. What happens to fuse if you turn ign. on,don't start engine, and hit brakes?Should bow fuse if switch is bad.
