Need the firing order on a 700 xj "85" yamaha

The coils are set up as follows
Left coil, Orange lead wire: Cylinders 1&4(outside cylinders)
Right coil, Gray lead wire: Cylinders 2&3 (inside cylinders)

The firing order is 1-2-4-3. Number 1 cylinder is the left hand one as you sit on the bike, number 4 the right. HTH

No spark, where is the coil?

Follow the plug wire and it will lead you to the coil.
Make sure the kill switch is in the run position and the wires in the kill circuit are not bad or shorted to ground,
