The fuel shut off solenoid has two separate windings, energize and hold. The symtom of 2-3 seconds run is likely the fuel solenoid energizing during start cycle but a failure with solenoid hold when the ignition switch is released to the RUN position. Suggest you verify the hold circuit and solenoid hold winding are working.
Do you have any codes in the ECM ? Have you checked for any vacuum leaks ? Can you add more detail information as to when it first began to have issues and what have you done to correct this problem.
If this happens every time you start your truck and it shuts off the same each time, you just might have a dirty fuel filter only allowing so much gas pass through until it clogs once again. I once had a chevy van, when I would drive it, would go a few miles and engine would shut down. I would wait 10 or 15 minutes, it would start up and allow me to drive a few more miles then shut down again. I changed the fuel filter, It was fine after that.
