Take off points cover turn motor by hand when 1st timing mark comes around gap non adjusrable pionts,turn by hand all way round till 2nd mark comes up set adjustable points this should get u close then use a timimng light and adj as nessicary by moving 2nd set of pionts.

78 gs 750E not getting get enough gas in the carbs to start with the help of starting fluid but dies after that gas is burnt

besure the gas is on at the tank if still problem try removing the gas line and catching the gas in an empty can it may flow slow or not at all there is a small screen in the petcock that get easily clogged w/ rust from the tank itself

1978 suzuki gs 750e Wont rev it will idle but only with the choke fully on. Could it possibly be a clogged jet?

Could be a sticking float, clogged jets, restricted fuel flow( filter etc)' loosen drain screw in each of the 4 carbs, this is the lowermost screw try and catch the fuel in a container, you should have a similar amount from each carb, a lesser amaount from any of the carbs would point to a problem in that particular carb.

How much fork oil for a yamaha xs 750e 1980. the 750e seems to be differant to the 750. Any help would be a great help Terry

G'day. When I'm in trouble with a fork oil quantity spec.I use the oil level method of setting up my forks. The spec. is an oil level of 105mm from the top of the leg with the fork fully compressed(spring removed of course).Works every time.

I have a 79 suzuki gs 750e.just recently, it was sitting for a month and i didnt bother fixing it. lookd at it finally this morning to find a blown main fuse. no problem. switched it out and started up...

Your problem sounds fuel related, firstly check the vacuum lines from the carbies is connected to the Petcock valve, alternatively use the Prime position. see what happens. If still no good it might be that the fuel is stale and should be changed - drain the fuel tank and carbies, add new fresh fuel and try again. Another thing to look for would be air leaks around the intake manifolds

I have the Suzuki GS 750E, the spark plugs are constantly becoming fouled, how do i correct this problem

sounds like its running to rich, check your air filter is clean, set your carb mixture ,
turn the screws in untill they bottom out ,but dont turn to hard !(they have a fine needle point end and are easy to break leaving the broken point inside the carb making adjustment impossible )back all four screws out 1.5 turns and start from the bike and adjust from there to rich turn out to lean ( weak turn in ) a good web site for these bikes.

Carburerettor Suzuki GS 750E

The GS bikes do have a fuel pump that is part of the petcock. This pump runs off of a vacuum line from the carbs. The carb bank is also made to run with the air-box in place. It will also not run right without the stock exhaust system in place. The engine would have to be re-jetted to properly run with a different exhaust system.
The engine will never run right without the air-box unless you get a vacuum gauge and properly tune the carb bank without it. Anyway, to fix your fuel pump problem, you may be able to install just the pump somehow, in between your tank and carburetor assembly.
You'll have to change several things to make this engine work as a go cart engine and be dependable.
