is it just out of winter storeage? could be gum in the carbs, get some fuel system cleaner additive and put it in the gas. run it on idle and get it hot, leave to stand overnight and try again. you are not getting enough gas and when you open it up you are giving more air but not getting enough gas. try changing fuel filter too.

Sure mirrors, nuts, bolts and screws. Maybe a fender and a bit of other stuff. But for the most part not much will match up and now you have this ugly monster in your garage and your next job is to figure out exactly how you are going to get rid of the da-- thing. Look a bit harder and get a match for your bike. Now you have something worthwhile.

sounds like you have trash in your carbs u need to take bottoms off and run a piece of a wire wheel through the jets

I have a 83 and yes the air valve is the same as the 1200, under right side cover.
