Well, you know where the battery is located on your bike (Under your seat in your RH cover)
A trickle charger have a black and red alligator/clamp lead. Battery normally on the top side near their posts have a plus ("+") and minus ("-") indicators. Clip your red cable to your positive and black to negative, leave it overnight ( at least 6-8 hours) unclip and give the bike a go. That sghould do it.
Good enough for a thumbs up?

I have a 95 intruder 800 and some people aren't familiar with the battery location ,when I hook up my battery charger I hook it to the selinoid beside the fuse cover on the left side of the bike if your facing the rear,I put the red to red and the black(negative) I hook to a good frame ground or engine ground like the gear shifter, the reason I do this is because the terminals are so close together on the selinoid. The battery location on my bike is under the center of the bike close to the kick stand or that area, anyway hope it helps!

How do I gharge the battery

Hi Anonymous:
There are actually several ways:
1) Start the engine and let the alternator charge it.
2) Attach the leads from a battery charger and turn on the battery charger.
3) Attach "jumpers" from another vehicle's battery, start that vehicle, and leave it running long enough to charge the battery.
- ALWAYS CONNECT POSITIVE TO POSITIVE, AND NEGATIVE TO NEGATIVE.
- CONNECT NEGATIVE LAST.
- MAKE SURE BATTERY HAS CORRECT FLUID LEVEL
- WORK SAFE! BATTERY FLUID IS ACID AND CAN CAUSE SEVERE BURNS.

Car battery charger

It is possible that the unit needs to see a battery load before it engages the charge circuit. To test this measure the voltage of the battery without the charger. Then attach the charger and measure the voltage again. If the charger is working the voltage should be 13 to 14 volts.

How do I get to the battery to charge it

To access your battery, take off your side covers. There is a bolt on each side of the back of the seat. Remove the two seat mount bolts and lift the seat off to access the battery. If you only want to charge the battery take off the left side cover, attach you power cable from the charger to the plus cable going from the battery to the starter solenoid. Then, attach the negative charger clamp to a frame bolt or engine mounting bolt. This will charge your battery with out removing the seat.

New batteries does not seem to fully charge. tested the output of the charger with meter and it shows no voltage on the output of the charger, but the two lights flash quickly when plugged in to the wall...

The measurements below are for a 12 volt charger or across one battery at a time. In a 24 volt charger or across both batteries at once, double the values.
The charger will not show any output unless connected to a battery. To test the charger, attach the charger to the battery but do not plug in the charger. Connect a meter to the battery and read the voltage (9.8v - 11.6v).
Now plug in the charger. Read the battery again (13.6 - 14.2v).
The voltage must not be higher than 14.8 on the battery or the battery will over-charge - the charger needs service. If the voltage does not come up to 13.2v, the charger is not running. Again, the charger needs service.
Be patient. You can wait ten minutes and measure again. Batteries respond slowly to the charger.

Battery sparks badly when trying to attach a battery charger

As long as your attaching red to + and black to - you'll be fine. If you don't want sparks don't turn on your charger until after you connect the wires. Be sure to remove the negative cable to your car before charging or you can damage the computer in the vehicle.
