Hello....for the crank case you will want to use Yamalube 4 (10w-30) or an equivalent SAE 10W-30 SE motor oil. There is not a dip stick on the bike, Need to measure teh oil in accordance with Yamaha specs. You will need to check the owners manual or contact the local dealer service department and should be able to tell you how much needs to be added. If you don't have good 1qt mix cup you can get one at a good motorcycle shop. These are very help full in accurately measuring your premix oil for the fuel as well. Hope this helps

Checking the oil is easy. Changing the oil and filter is a bit more complicated. I am giving you a website where you can do a free download of a factory service manual. Go to this site >
www.carlsalter.com/motorcycle-manuals.asp The site may take up to 20 seconds to fully load all the manuals available. Yours is in the list. Go to section 3 pages 13 to 17. Below is one of the diagrams.

1995 Yamaha TY250z how do I check the gearbox oil level and what type of oil should I use?

there is a screw on the side of your clutch cover that is your oil level screw. dont even use it as its not reliable... beside the oil fill hole it will say how much oil goes in. on my 03 yz 125 it takes 650cc yours will tell you. Drain your oil and put how much it says in. I use rotella t oil from walmart its in a white quart jug. Its the same oil the pros use and its cheap as well. dont go spend a fortune on "good" oil when rotella t is just as good.

Putting wrong transmition oil in yz 125

Nothing significant, don't worry about it. You do NOT want oil marked EC, signifying energy conservation. Such oil will cause the clutch plates to slip and premature clutch wear. If the oil you put in does say EC on the small round type seal simply drain it out and put in the correct oil. Not critical but the sooner the better.
