I have a 2009 Harley Davidson Nighttrain which I am changing oil in and I found what seems to be at least 2 drain plugs for the oil. Is this right? One was on the frame back towards the rear tire under the pipes and one was on the other side of the bike underneath the crank case. Am I doing this correctly?

There are indeed two drains under the bike. One is for the engine oil and one is for the transmission lubricant. Since your bike is basically a Softail, the one your looking for is the one on the frame back towards the rear tire under the pipes. Follow the pipe upwards and see if it goes to the oil tank. This will verify that you have the correct drain. Just loosen the drain plug and let a drop or two of oil come out. It should be black. If it's clear and clean looking, it may be your transmission lube but I'm sure if your bike is a Softail model, this is the drain you're looking for.

How do I change my oil on my 2009 FLSTN

Begin with the bike at operating temperature. Remove the dipstick from the oil tank. Remove the drain plug underneath the bike at the front of the oil pan. It is a 5/8 bolt with an allen hole in it. Do not remove the plug that just has an allen head! After the oil is drained, replace the o-ring on the drain plug and reinstall the drain plug. Remove and replace the oil filter at the front of the motor. Replace the oil (3 quarts). Reinstall the dipstick. Start the bike and check for leaks at the drain plug and oil filter.

Where is the drain hose that I need to remove to change the oil on an 883 2001 Harley Davidson model

The drain hose location on the Sportsters seemed to have changed every year. But, they stayed in an area just below the battery on the right side of the bike. The hose may simply plug onto a frame tube down by the swingarm. Sometimes they came off a "tee" right behind the primary case.

I can't find the drain for the crank case oil on my 2009 FLHTCU. I want to do my own oil changes on my bike, but I cannot find the oil drain plug. Help!

most harleys the crank drain is under the skid plate at bottom of bike, so oil changes are done via oil tank drain. always change the filter.
