The learn button is located on the garage door opener unit itself that hangs from the ceiling. If you follow the gray antenna up to the unit you will see a red/orange button on the unit. That is the learn button. When you push that button and amber LED will light up either above or next to the learn button. This indicates that the garage door opener is now ready to learn a new device. Press and hold the button you want programed on the garage door opener remote and release it. The garage door opener will click and the garage door opener light will go off and come back on (if the light bulbs are in working order). The amber LED will go out, repeat if you need to program anything else.
Sounds like it has lost signal strength and the door cuts it down to the point that the receiver never gets the signal when the door is in the way. If it did that before you replaced the battery then you will have to replace the keypad.
If the main light flashes 10 times when the door goes back up it is a door sensor problem. You chain should sag just a little. If you tighten it too much it will click as it goes over the sprocket. You can increase the down force which is an adjustment near where all those white wires go. A 1/4 turn should be enough. Release the door from the opener and operate it by hand. It should move freely and when you have the door approximately waist high it should stay put. Neither raising nor closing.
It sounds like the signal coming from your car remote is quite a bit stronger than the signal from the original remots. Many garage door openers have a sensitivity dial. check your owner's manual as you may have one also. Get back and let me know as there are other things to try
If you have a Chraftsman/Liftmaster: 1.Check to see if the door is running correctly. A. Run the door down and pull the emergency release. See if the door will run easily by itself. 1. If it runs hard by hand try lubricating the rollers and hinges with silicone spray or some form of lubricant (not WD 40) 2. If the door is heavy and falls back to the ground, you probably have a spring issue (either broken or needs more tension) in this case call a professional door repair company in your area. 2. If the door runs fine your gears might br out of your opreator. Open the case and look for a white powder. If you see that and your gears look worn repace the gears with 41c4220a gear kit. ( with the 5 flashing the traveler is jammed up against the top bolt. The same part will fix the problem be sure to replace the bottom bushing on the motor bracket.)

If you have a Chraftsman/Liftmaster check the down limit:
If the light bulb(s) on your operator are on the front and/or back, the limit adjustment screw is on the left side of the operator (looking from the back of the operator and facing the garage door).. If the lights are on the sides of the operator then the limit adjustment screw is on the left side (looking from the back of the operator and facing the garage door).
Check the up and down force:
