If i understand your problem if you let out you clutch give it gas then just the rpm's raise with no speed up you may need to adjust you clutch cable or your fluid.Other than that you may have a bad clutch.

I want to know how to tell if i need a new clutch as compared to a slave cylinder, car has only 99k, and i bought it as is, owner said it needs slave cylinder, how can i be sure????

Put the car in first and start it up. If the car want's to lurch forward then the clutch is working but not disengaging. Look toward the slave/master cylinders or even the pedal itself. Pontiac used aluminum clutch pedals and they bend over time, hitting the floor before giving you the full length of travel. This causes the clutch to not disengage. 50 bucks at Fierostore.com.

If the car doesn't lurch or the RPM's go up while in gear and clutch out, but the car doesn't go any faster then the clutch is slipping and needs to be replaced.

Good luck,

T Maxx 3.3 full throttle issues.

Sounds like either the slipper clutch is too loose or the clutch shoes are not engaging the clutch bell.

I put the bike in gear but when i pull the clutch lever in, it wont disengage and stays in gear??

if the clutch lever feels it has plenty of tension, it may just be the clutch plates stuck together from sitting.

Roll start it and ride around while holding in the clutch, vary the throttle, and they usually unstick. Give it an oil change when it warms up.

1995 900 sp clutch does not disengage when lever

hi,this may help,it sounds like your clutch plates are stuck together, this is quite common on bikes that have been parked up for a while, mine does it ocasionally,i fix it by getting the bike moving and crash starting it,once you have got it running and moving with the bike in the highest gear you can get it into(you can change up and down the gearbox without the clutch and not do any damage)simply pull the clutch lever in and roll on and off the throttle a couple of times and the clutch should disengage...hope this helps

Clutch pulling

Your clutch is not fully disengaging.Adjust the cable at the lever until you have plenty of free play. Then adjust the cable at the motor until you have full engagement then readjust lever to 3/8 in play.Fine tune at the motor. It may take a few trys but you can get it.

Screeching noise, then a/c stops blowing cold air. Still blows air, just not cold air.

it could be the air conditioning clutch going out. to check turn your car on and idle it with ac on and hood open. at the ac compressor it will have a pulley on it with a clutch that engages when the air conditioning is on. if it engages and disengages it can be the clutch itself has gone bad, the ac clutch will also disengage if there is not enough freon in the ac system, will also engage and disengage if the pressure gets too high in the ac system. Depending on the year of the vehicle it will disengage at full throttle and come back on when you are not at full throttle.
If it is a metallic sounding screech for example take a coke can and drag it across pavement kind of sound it could be a bad compressor or a bad ac clutch. If it is a more rubbery sound for example a car spinning its tires kind of noise it could be a loose belt.

1. Check to make sure all belts are tight under hood
2. start car and look at ac compressor to make sure compressor pulley is turning and that the fan clutch is engaged spinning
