My 02 R6 has been sitting for the past year. I put new gas in the tank and have a new battery. It will start but when I twist the trottle it shuts down (if as it's flooded). Any ideas on what the problem(s) could be?

Is this the fuel injections model or the carb model?...if its the carb model..sounds like you need to strip the carbs down & clean the float bowls out. & the main jets & dont for get the piolt jet as well...as if petrol let in carbs it goes off & gums them up...if its fuel injections one...could be a sensor!!..hope this helps

My 89 ranger has been sitting for 7 years. i got a new battery for it and it will crank but will not start. i am not sure where to start looking to fix the problem. before it sat it ran like a champ.

Hi,
Is it getting gas and fire?
If so and you don't have fresh gas in the tank, I would suspect some bad gas after sitting for 7 years.
Hope this helps. Good luck!

Starts and runs with choke on for about 1minute or so then starts to cut out and backfire out exhaust, then won't start again . i cleaned tank , fuel getting to carbs , new plugs, thinking coils bad? I did...

Sea foam isn't always the answer there is far better things to use, berryman B12 chemtool is the best i have found for thing that haven't been sitting for a awhile but just need a good clean or water problems.
On to the problem at hand, has your bike sat for any amount of time? if so you need to clean your carbs. the gas will varnish and block the jet. will the bike run without the choke? Check your coilby seeing if you have spark test each hole if you have good spark them you know that coils and pickup are working.
Let me know what you find, Good luck

Car wont start it sounds out of gas but its not

Try changing your fuel filter. After setting for over a year your filter may of have picked up some trash that settled in your tank. Also check your fuses you may of have blown your fuel pump fuse. Also you may try putting some new fuel.

89 Ford F150 shuts off when put in gear.

After sitting 2 years, there must have been some fuel in tank that has probably gone real bad (like shellac) and contaminated the fuel system, plugged up filter etc. Usually rust will form in tank, mixed with stale fuel, it will turn just like mud.
