There is a switch on the clutch that will prevent the bike from starting without the clutch pulled in. look for a set of wires that go to the clutch lever, trace them down to a plug in connecter, unplug and on the lever side of the plug put a multi meter set to ohms and pull the lever. you should get a connection. or take a jumper wire and bridge the two wires on the bike side of the connector and try to start. make sure if you do this the bike is in neutral and the clutch is in because it will start in gear.

Generac generator won't stop cranking with battery connected.

You've got a short somewhere, energizing the circuit. Why did you replace all of those parts? Were there other issues? You shouldn't throw money and parts at something without knowing what's wrong. I would start tracing the wires back from the starter and find were the short is. Sounds like voltage is getting to the wire after the switches in the circuit.

I HAVE A 2003 FORDWIND STAR SE.3.8 NEW PLUGS AND WIRES NEW STARTER NEW THROTTLE BODY NEW SPEED CONTROL STILL WONT CRANK OR TURN OVER EVERY ONE IS SAYING IT THE KILL SWITCH I DONT WHERE IT IS LOCATED

The fuel shut-off switch (inertia switch) is located probably in the rear somewhere, like behind a side or kick panel , or sometimes it is located in the kick panel on the front passenger side.

But this switch is only for fuel shut off in case of accident or emergency. It will not affect the starting circuit. Something else would be preventing from cranking the engine over. Since you have a new starter, there must be a problem in the start circuit. If security light is flashing when trying to start it, it must be activated. If not, you need to see if power is going to starter solenoid with key held in crank position.

Car was running, electrical wire burning smell, starter makes grinding noise, with the car running, stop the car, starter keeps making grinding noise, with the car turned off, ABS and trac control

You have the polarity of the battery backward somewhere. Did you replace the starter and hook it up backwards. Difficult but possible. Check your positive and negative on the battery itself.

My 98 mazdab4000 wont star.first was my starter.ichanged it,it was running ok for abou 3 weeks, than star doing the same,i checked the ground wires.battery.they are ok.i used jump cables ,still wont star...

If you mean it just wont crank over, what I did on my Toyota(just another vehicle, but same situation),I clipped a wire onto the main starter wire to the solonoid and put the other end on a toggle switch on the dash and a hot wire from battery to the other side of toggle switsh(spring loaded from auto parts store),and any time my Truck wont crank over,I leave the switch on and pull the toggle switch over and it starts right up.Can be done with ANY vehicle.

Hi I'm rey. I have a problem of my Yamaha V Star 1100. I can't start the engine. The battery is new(fully charge) starter is working, but it appears the gear that trigger the engine can't get through. Can...

Fist things first.
Check all the terminals, ie battery, solenoid and starter.
Make sure they are all tight and that the earth lead on the starter is good along with the +12v.
Check the fuses.
Then get a meter to check the voltage at each point when you press the starter button.
If ok, you will then have to look at things that cause the starter circuit to not to work, ie
Kill switch, in gear, side stand down.
come back to me when you have done that.

The battery is charged but the motorcycle wont start, possible starter?

could be solenoid.
side stand switch.
bike in gear switch
ignition kill switch
faulty starter switch
you are going to have to get a test meter and and see what power is going to solenoid both sides and if it is getting the signal to start.
