What mode would the samsung sfd-321B be in if OPB and OPA are shorted. I have read the OEM manual, but can not figure out why they have shorted both in this case?

If your computer recognises "New hardware found" when it is connected to the usb port it could be better to have Device Manager find and instal the best driver from the many available on the internet but failing that an internet search produces many results...

Floppy drives do not need drivers. Support is built into the operating system.

I assume that the machine is not seeing the floppy drive. Here are some possible solutions:

1. the drive is not properly plugged in to the computer.

2. The drive is defective.

3. The BIOS has not been set up to recognise the drive.

4. The cable is defective.

If the green light is constantly on then the ribbon cable has been fitted the wrong way around.

To fix some ribbon cables have a twist in them this side goes to the floppy drive and not the motherboard. The red line on the ribbon cable corresponds to number 1 on the drive itself.

My brother has a Korg X3 which the drive stopped working. It was the drive belt that disentegrated. This unit has a specific floppy drive that is very hard to find. I found a replacement belt for his and got it working. I had to buy 5 in a package to get it though. I have 4 extra ones if you would like to split the price with me on those. I thought it would be a normal floppy drive since it looks like one.. no dice though. The replacement belt make m brother's unit good as new...

Well, you 1st should check is your floppy drive properly insterted into your pc mb. Open your hardware check the joins on your FD(floppy drive) if thats ok, assemble the box. Next move is to check is your FD even enabled in ps BIOS. Open your bios acess general settings, and you should find setting flopy disc 1,28~ enable/disable.

After that if you still experience problems you should thinking about usage of usb pen drives, since floppy drive systems are really outdated, as I know there never been any drivers for that system , so those steps should solve your problem.

Do you have one and want to knowbefore you install? or has it been"rejected" already?Win 7 should more than likely "see" this Hardware and install.

There are external cases that are mad just for this purpose.
Try Tiger Direct under external cases

try the other way around.use the cmd on start menu
and use the format command.if same error message appears then something is wrong with your thumb drive
