misfire is from spark loss and injector fault
With the weather being cold and damp I would be looking for cracks in the distributor cap, loose HT leads , moisture on the coil/s moisture around the plug ,injector tip faulty wires and connections for the injector
If the problem goes away when brake is applied, then a loose brake bad or missing pad clip is possible. Either way, you should have it inspected. A loose brake pad is not dangerous at all, but something else loose under there could be potentially catastrophic, such as a tie-rod end or a ball joint.
I would suspect your exhaust donut leak is your ticking noise after
start up, have it replaced at your local exhaust shop and see if the
problem goes away. If not, you might have a noisy lifter, located in
the top of the cylinder head. Try adding oil to
your engine oil and see if that helps.
The engine miss, I would first take a hard look at the spark plugs and spark plug wires. From your email I would highly suspect a faulty
spark plug wire. If the wires have more than 50K miles on them....replace
them as maintenance anyway, and it would be a good idea to inspect and
replace the spark plugs as well.
the sensor is on you exgsaust pipe under the truck. if you slide under the truck behind the front tire. look at the pipe. you will see a sensor on the pipe with some wires coming out.
If it is a vacuum hose, the vehicle will idle fast. Take a spray bottle and put some water in it and while the engine is running spray it around the spark plug wires. If it gets worse around a particular wire, replace that wire, better yet replace all of them and put in new plugs, but get the plugs from Saturn garage, the wires will be ok from Advance or wherever, but not the plugs.
