The Regulator/Rectifier is located ontop of the headlight. You can see it through the grill there. To change it requires the removal of the fairing, false tank, seat, instrument cluster cover. The Stator is located on the left side(sitting on the bike) of the motor. You can change it by lying the bike over on something soft, old mattress or the grass, on the motor - remove the left rear (secondary) cover and the stator cover. NOTE the lay of the wires and the wire guard. Remove the stator and follow the wires up to where they connect to the Reg/Rect behind the right indicator light. If you were only doing the Stator, then some people splice the wires in behind the left sidecover with heavy duty splices and solder combined. Where is battery located on 1986 Suzuki calvacade

The battery is located in front of your right knee when sitting on the bike. LXE - Remove the map case, slide outwards, lift from inner edge, grab metal clip under case, force inwards while lifting upper portion, when metal clip is fully our, continue to slide the mapcase outwards completely and store. Unscrew all screws in the lower portion where fuseblock is mounted, lift up, unclip fuseblock mounting and slide it through the mapcase lower. Battery is now there to be seen. Refit in reverse order, but a warning, make sure you slide the upper mapcase into both runners or you will loose it going down the hiway. LX/GT - remove the right side locked panel, unscrew fuseblock as per LXE, etc.

I need vacuum schematics and wiring diagram for 1986 cavalcade 1400LXE

GOOGLE- Wiring diagram for Cavalcade 1400LXE and the same for the Vac Schematics. I had an issue with my Dodge and had to Google it and would have had to pay 9.99 for that software to be downloaded for the electrical diagrams. I went all the way and paid the 22.99 for the entire manual. The back of the book ( Chilton's, etc) will do you justice when it come to wiring and vacuum routes. Pay a little bit and just have the info and your fingertips, I know its easier said that done tho

1986 cavalcade 1400 has a leak from behind the case. Upon closer inspection it seems to come from a boot that goes from the tranmission back to the rear driveshaft. It is not gear oil it is motor oil....

You have an oil leak from the engine.
If you cannot find where the engine is leaking, remove the chrome cover infront of teh rubber boot you mention, 4 bolts, run the engine/go for a ride. See if you can trace the leek. Airflow while riding can force the oil away from the leak and show up elsewhere on the engine.

The Choke lever is located on the left handlebar as part of and on the inside of the switch mount. If it is not there, then the lever has broken. I have a 1986 Cavalcade that runs great then without warning stalls out. I think the fuel pump relay is bad. Does anyone know where this relay is located on this bike?? Thanks

Does it stall suddenly...or start sputtering as if its running out of fuel. The fuel pump stopping shouldn't kill the engine suddenly....each carb will empty and you will lose one cylinder, then two etc.
If its dying suddenly I would investigate your sidestand switch....when the bike stalls...do you ever find the starter won't immediately crank?

Hello,I replace the Stator and battery,on my 86,cavalcade 1400 LXE...starter ok,but the wires gets over hot with the voltage regulator together...thank you!

The wires from the Stator to the Regulator/rectifier do get very hot. Remember that the stator always puts out maximum power and the reg/rect shunts what ever your bike does not use to ground. A very wasteful thing to do, but that is what Suzuki decided to do with most of their models. There is a yahoo email group for these bikes joined through a link at suzukicavalcade.com - try it.
