I have a 1999 Volvo S80 2.9. I work as a mechanic in a country area hundreds of kilometers from an authorised dealer (robber) Even tho I have access to diagnostic equipment I need the factory CD workshop manuals to make progressive sense of everything It just seems impossible to get a copy of the CDs that authorised dealers have. Where can I go to get workshop manual downloads for my technically complicated car? Stuart

These are not generally made available by the manufacturer.

I would suggest you join up to one or 2 of the better VOLVO online forums (there are a few). There may be someone there who has some downloadable material they can email to you or know where you can get an unofficial copy of the CDs.

I recently secured workshop manual info from a forum member for another vehicle (not a Volvo) which he had copied from the manufacturer's CDs he had access to. Very useful because you cannot get the CDs officially.

These on line Car forums can be very useful.

I hope this helps some. Good luck with it. (Lots of issues with those S80s unfortunately).

Sean

Your car may have had a new ignition switch installed - hence the different key. The FOB may not be programmed properly to lock / unlock. Have you contacted a MB dealer?

After how long do i change my timing belt in my suzuki escudo

YOU CAN LOOK IN THE BACK OF YOUR OWNERS MANUAL IT SHOULD TELL YOU THERE . YOU CAN ASK YOUR LOCAL MECHANIC OR YOU CAN REPLACE IT BETWEEN 60 TO 100 THOUSAND MILES YOUR BEST BET WOULD BE TO CALL YOUR LOCAL SUZUKI DEALER AND THEY WILL TELL YOU FOR SURE THE AMOUNT OF KILOMETERS YOU NEED TO LET GO BY FOR A TIMING BELT REPLACEMENT

Please after changing the battery of my VOLVO v40 1999 wagon car the radio requested code can you help me

This is a anti-theft device built into your radio designed to foil robbers. When the radio looses power, the radio locks up. This makes the radio worthless on the black market. The thieves know this and don't steal it as a result. Your owners manual tells you to clear the code if there will be a power loss (changing the battery). There may not be a recovery procedure.

In the GM (1995) version of this system, there is no recovery (if there were, what would be the point of the system?). I don't know the specifics of the Volvo system. You may want to talk to your dealer before you replace your radio. I am sure you will have to prove ownership of the vehicle.

Thanks for your question @ FixYa.com this morning.

How i can find the tepmrture sensor in 2.9 volvo s80 1999 engine

you should either go online to find out and look up the make and model and year of the car and see if theres a map or information about the location. If that doesnt work go to a mechanic or the dealer

Volvo S80 German to English or Dutch

Hi there,

Most are of the opinion that this can only be done by an authorised Volvo Dealership, by reprogramming the 'option table' to your preferred language.

This should only be a small labor charge, to have them connect the Vidas System an reprogram the Message Centre.

Contact your local Volvo Dealership for a price to have this done.

Cheers,

ABS light on 1999 Fored Expedition

There is a problem with the ABS (Anti-Lock Brakes). Unless you have the knowledge to diagnose and repair this problem I suggest you seek help from a trusted mechanic or your Volvo dealer. Your ABS may not be working correctly but your normal brakes will still work.

Transmission valve

All I know is that volvo does not replace shift solenoids anymore. I dont even think you can find that part. I used to work for volvo and the manufacturer would have us just replace the transmission. You can get a factory instruction manual from volvo. Its called a first edition manual. They are not cheap. It might be a good idea to bring to the dealer, just find get a second opinion.

Buying a '94 Volvo 940 GL auto

Hi!

Im from the "land of volvo" sweden, and ive worked as a mecanik for 8 years, and i have NEVER ever had a customer who serverd his/her car every month, and never ever have i heard anyone else sya that they had. So maybe that woman had her car washed every month, thats normal...but she dident had the car on service every month, thats overkill so to say. Once in a year or every 20 000 kilometers is the normal service intervall. And the big sercice is when the volvo has run 140-150 000 kilometers. And thats the expenisve big service when you get a lot of parts replaced on the motor. Otherwise the normal service once a year or 20 000 kilometers is changing oli, changing filters, check on the breakes, check the tires, check the lamps etc.

I hope this info is usefull for you
Good luck
Nic

BTW, Volvo is a very very good and trusted car and wonderfull to drive

Need turbo replaced

You can take it to the dealer and have it replaced for 2,200 to 3,500 dollars.

Or, you can take it to an Independent Volvo Mechanic and spend a lot less!

Lastly, you can rebuild the bad one in your vehicle yourself for 300-500 dollars.
