On the front of the motor at the bottom just behind the front tire. The oil filter is inside the housing. There are three small nuts and one bolt to remove before you can get to the oil filter. Where is the hole on the gearbox where you can see how much gear oil you have in it on my gs suzuki l 1982 1100


Your GS is wet sump therefore it does not have gearbox oil. You put oil into the filler hole (normally about 3 to 4 liters) this flows to the bottom of the engine (sump) and is then pumped all around the engine including the gearbox. If oil is leaking from this hole I would suggest something is missing i.e.sensor, plug etc or someone has drilled it out. You need to find someone with your model GS annd see if they have the same problem and/or a Workshop manual to work this out.

is that a Suzuki Gs 850 from the 1980s ? as far as i remember yes and mite have to change charge system too ! why you not just fit new cdi , wot country you in as you should find loads of new or sec/ hand if your in uk ?

It would depend on what Transmission u have, Auto or Man
I presume you mean manual when u say gear oil not trans fluid ,

But just in case you can Have a look in the suzuki owners forum for an exact volume of gearbox oil capacity
