These bikes have an automatic clutch.
It could be the tickover is just a little low or the clutch is having problems.
First thing to do is change all the oils (3 sets of oils and make sure you use right type).
Engine, clutch and final drive.
Also change / check the air filter for the final drive.

Check there is at least 1/2" play at the little finger end of the clutch handlebar lever, if there isn't loosen the cable off until there is. If there is, adjust/replace the clutch plates as required. It may be just the clutch spring if you are very lucky!

These bikes have an automatic clutch. !

It is down to the revs in that case and the type and quantity of transmission oil in use.

Intermittent problem to start all lights are on but bike won't start

Hi, Mary and the usual suspects are:
1. Ignition Switch not in the "ON" position.
2. Engine Run Switch in the "OFF" position.
3. Discharged battery, needs to be 12.5 volts or better and be able to pass a load test if necessary, check battery terminals for damage or corrosion, check the battery cables at "BOTH" ends for loose, corroded, or broken connectors, "INSIDE" and outside the cable harness, perform connector wiggle test and check cables with an ohmmeter if necessary.
4. Bank angle sensor tripped and ignition/light key switch not cycled to the "OFF" position and then back to the "ON" position.
5. Faulty starter button/switch.
6. Faulty jiffy stand or clutch pull in switch/sensor.
7. Security alarm needs a reset.
8. Starter control circuit, relay, or solenoid faulty.
9. Main fuse or circuit breaker may be blown or faulty.
10. Electric starter shaft pinion gear is not engaging or over-running starter clutch slipping.

I have a customers 2007 Suzuki 650 Burgman on my lift why is it more difficult to roll backwards

Was it running when you tried to back it up? I do NOT have any experience with this bike or this CVT propulsion however, the old SIMPLEX AUTOMATIC used a less sophisticated design.

There is a reinforced belt that slips when stopped or backing up but it always drags to some extent just much less if the motor is NOT running.

cable of hydraulic you need to be more specific, it could be a fine adjuster at the engine side where the cable goes in, unless I see the set up, not sure, how many miles covered?
