I need to change the crank bearings in my 01 yz250f. Is it some thing I can do by myself or do I need to have a bike shop do it?

SOURCE: I have a '01 WR 426, one the thing is a bear to

The starting procedure is... Kick it over slowely untill it stops, pull in the compression release lever and kick just a little more to get it past "Top dead center". (An inch or two) Then let the kick starter return all the way up, .... and give it a smooth firm kick. Not a ****.

impossible to tell you without knowing the bike brand and model and year, although you have provided that 1999.

If you take into a bike shop, which is the usual place to purchase the parts you need, they will be able to tell you what size Bottom Bracket will fit your bike, also what options you will have for replacement cranks and bottom bracket. This could be a very complicated issue when replacing with parts that are 11-12 years newer, the shop will be best equipped to give you all your options.

Your crank is probably not bent , it takes a big crash or something to bend one. there is an adusjment nut and lock nut to set them back up. could be LH thread on the left hand side

Have a old american flyer road bike and want to change bottom bracket. not sure what size

Go to a bike shop and let them measure your cranks. Do you have a one piece or three piece crank? Do you have metric wrenches? Bottom bracket tool? You have to know the answers to these things to get the right size bearings, if it is a one piece you more than likely have a #66 but without seeing it, who knows.

Trek 800 sport needs crank bearings, how to

This isn't Bike Repair 101-level stuff. Take it to a reputable bike shop and have them teach you while they do it. If they're cartridge bearings it's fairly simple. Next time, you can handle it. Be advised, crankset removal tools are specialized and expensive for the casual bike owner who would use them only once every few years..
