yellow flame is an indication of incorrect air mixture
as it is gas I would suggest that you seek the services of an accredited gas specialists to do any adjustments or repairs
First, have you changed the battery in the ignition system? If you haven't this could be causing your ignition problem. In addition, the Thermocouple may need to be replaced to solve the problem of the burner flames going of on their own. That's assuming the pilot light is also going out when the burners go out. It would also be wise to check the vent pipe to make sure it's not obstructed in any way. As this also, could cause the flames to go out. Because there is a Safety Overload Switch, that automatically shuts the burner off is there is a gas and heat buildup/backup in the firebox.
As far as replacing the Thermocouple is concerned, this unit uses the same type of stand-alone Thermocouple, as the older DESA Vent-free gas log sets and fireplaces used. It's held in place with a saddle strap mounting and is fairly easy to replace.
These fireplaces are made in the UK and therefore, are more complicated to install, diagnose a problem and then solve it, than those made in the U.S.
Hope this has helped get you headed in the right direction.
Click on the Downloads tab and you may find the Owners Manual for your gas fireplace. It will show you how to install and arrange the logs properly. If you can't find the model you have, on the manuals page, use their contact information and call them.
Hi Thanks for using FixYa. From what
you have described it seems that possible oven control is not sending gas
for the pilot light. The pilot light works but no main burner ignition -
possible pilot assembly is dirty and the pilot flame is too small, safety valve
and thermocouple is faulty, the bulb from the safety valve is out of position
and the pilot flame is not touching the thermocouple bulb. Some ranges use a
standing pilot light (smallflame is on
all the time ) while others use an spark ignition to light the pilot light
flame and the pilot light flame heats up the thermocouple bulb to allow the
main gas to flow through the oven burner. Please do accept the solution
if the issue is resolved or else revert for further assistance. Thanks Rylee
I hope you didnt blow up by now, but your to hold a pilot valve down while igniting it
and keep down for 1 minute then release then turn valve to keep the pilot to operate the valve
It sounds as though you have a bad thermocouple. Replacing the thermocouple which senses the heat from the flame should correct your problem. The thermocouple is a safety device which when working properly sends an electrical signal to the main gas valve that your pilot lite is on and holds the valve in the operational mode.
