We REALLY need more details to answer anything, but It sounds like you may be referring to tires. if so, they must be replaced, tubes also.

  • Colin Gilpin Feb 12, 2011

as a loose rule tires have a "safe" life of about 5 years. it depends how they have been stored ie in the heat or cold or in the damp etc. The chemicals in the tire will have broken down at this stage and the tire will be unstable and thus unsafe

Crack in bottom of freezer?

Hello
this is not a problem as long as you do not let water or dampness into the crack, just switch of fridge and dry out the crack and seal with a good quality mastic or plastic sealer ..

Sandpro 50 4510 water is squirting out of the front and it appears to be a hairline fracture. how can I fix this as it isn't even 2 years old?

JB Weld. Make sure the surface (inside and outside) and the crack is clean and dry. Mix up some JB Weld and press it into the crack from both the inside and the outside. Be sure to spread a layer of JB Weld across the crack. You do not want the JB Weld to be just in the crack.

Let the JB Weld cure according to the package before reassembling and running water through it. I would give it a whole day if possible.

OR

If the crack is just on the tank itself, you can find just the tank online for around $50.

Crack along lug of tire

If it's an old tire, the crack is probably caused by the rubber drying out and becoming brittle. If it's a new tire, it sounds like a manufacturing defect or road damage.

My car has 26000 on it and is a 2003 turbo s beetle...do i need to change the timing belt?

low mileage but old ?' difficult decision but not insurmountable ,take the cover off the timing belt and have a look ,if cracking apparant at the base of the teeth then change it if no cracking then leave well alone unless you live in a desert type dry climate ,if so then change it regardless as the plasticiser in the belt dries out

Where is the pcv valve located on the 1993 Pontiac Grand AM 6 cylinder car? can't seem to find it.

Can't say for sure but every other PCV valve I ever saw had the big **** end stuck into a grommet in a valve cover and the little nozzle end stuck into a rather fat vacuum line. So what I would do is just confine my search to the valve covers and once found, I would also pull out the dry cracked old grommet and pull off the dry old cracked vacuum line and take them to an advance or autozone and have the helpful salesperson get me replacements for those also. All told your parts should be under 10 bucks and even if the PCV was not bad you have accidentally fixed some leaking vacuum.

How do I clean the rollers? The rubber is getting old, dry and cracked and it is affecting paper feeding. Leo

If the roller are old and getting cracked etc then you do not clean them. Instead, you must change them. The sooner you change them the better.

Cracked seam inside Microwave

It will have to be sanded smooth and clean and dried thoroughly.

Then if the steel seam is actually cracked / separated, then you can apply a very thin bead of steel-based epoxy "J-B WELD". When it dries thoroughly, you can sand it smooth.

Then you can apply some high-temperature appliance paint, available from places like Wal-Mart, Lowe's or Builder's Square.

If it's just the paint that's cracked, it will have to be sanded smooth and clean and dried thoroughly.

I have a 1998 GMC Jimmy it runs great on a dry sunny day but lately I'm having issues after it rains. The engine will turn over but won't start?? distributor cap maybe?

First, I checked to make sure all spark plug wires were o.k.. There wasn't any visible cracks in the top of the distributor cap. So I took an old hair dryer and plugged it in. Set the hair dryer on the top of the distributor cap for about 10-12 minutes. Thats enough time to dry the inside of the distributor out. Engine starts fine so obviously there is a hair line crack somewhere on the distributor cap.
