Is the neutral light working when the bike is in neutral?
The Venture will start in neutral without using the clutch...however if the neutral light is not on, you must use the clutch and the sidestand must be up.

The clutch has to be pulled to start the bike. The clutch safety switch may be broken.
Check the "run/stop" switch as well as the starter button

Hi, Ivan before testing any electrical component in the Starting Circuit it is "IMPERATIVE" that you have a fully charged battery of 12.5 volts or more and be able to pass a proper "LOAD" test if necessary, you may have a preliminary reading of 12.5 volts or more but little or zero amperage, the battery is faulty and must be replaced. AGM type batteries fall into this scenario more so than lead-acid batteries.
1. Ignition Switch not in the "ON" position.
2. Engine Run Switch in the "OFF" position.
3. Engine Run Switch is "FAULTY" or corroded.
4. Check the battery terminals for damage or corrosion check the battery cables at "BOTH" ends for loose, corroded, or broken connectors, "INSIDE" and outside the cable harness, perform connector wiggle test and check cables with an ohmmeter.
5. Bank angle sensor needs a reset or is faulty.
6. FOB battery low or dead.
7. Faulty ignition switch.
8. Faulty starter button.
9. Faulty kickstand, clutch, neutral safety switch.

3. Battery damaged or nearly discharged, should have 12.5 volts.
4. Check battery terminals for damage or corrosion, check the battery cables at "BOTH" ends for loose, corroded, or broken connectors, "INSIDE" and outside the cable harness, perform connector wiggle test and check cables with an ohmmeter if necessary.
5. Throttle controls not adjusted correctly.
6. Water or dirt in the fuel system.
7. Water or dirt in the carburetor.
8. Intake air leak.
9. Fuel tank vent hose and vapor valve plugged, or fuel line closed off, restricting fuel flow.

How do you test a fuel pump 1986 yamaha venture motorcycle

I guess this is an electric one.
If so, when you put the ignition "on" ( not run ) you should hear a "buzz" and then will stop. This is the fuel pump. If you hear nothing the pump is not working. Anyway, even if you hear the noise there could be another faults with the pump, but is difficult to be explained here.
Describe your situation with the bike; maybe is not the fuel pump.

Changed starter...new battery....lights and radio work nothing happens when turn the key.

Starter Fuse? Possible failed ignition switch. Loose Cables on battery or starter. Starter not grounding properly. Bad starter Relay? Use Voltmeter check voltage going to main starter wire while someone cranks the motor if not power check power to starter relay while cranking if no power suspect ignition switch.

My 2004 Yamaha Royal Start Venture will not start. Battery is good. nothing turns on in any key position. Just got back from a ride and was going to go on a quick one. Got on the bike, turned key, bike...

1st check the fuse(s) including the main fuse on the starter solenoid.
Then check battery connections are tight.
If OK then check wiring & connections from battery to starter solenoid to ignition switch, but with no meter it will have to be a visual check for bad connections or squashed wires

Hope this helps (if so please mark as very helpful)

Electric start not working

The starter relay may have a loose wire or aone of the battery cables is poorly connected. To find the relay, follow the positive battery cable. Ck the negative cable connection on the frame. The small wire on the r4elay is the wire coming from the start button. There must be current there when you press the button. Good Luck, Ned

I have a 2005 yamaha venture royal star and i just replaced the iginition coil on the rear left hand side due to weak spark. The new coil seemed to have a lot more spark (maybe too much). The bike started...

If it wont do anything then it is likely that youve popped a fuse
But it sounds like the battery isnt being charged properly. Make sure the voltage across the batt terminals is at least 13.5v at tickover rising to no more than 15.5v at higher revs
