You can use synthetics if you like to gamble, but I advise against it. Synthetic oils often cause the cork on the clutch friction plates to either shrink or swell. If they shrink, the clutch will fail to grab and the bike just sits there. If the cork swells, the clutch will grab and want to pull the bike forward even with the clutch lever all the way in. Just use good old 10w40 motor oil without additives. Please rate my answer. Thanks!

Is the mortor a single case for oil and trans

Yes , the motor oil on the crank case lubricates the piston crankshaft area and the transmission area. One oil bath for the entire motor.Use any oil that is JASO MA certified motorcycle oil. 10w-40 for cold climate. 20w-50 for warm climate/touring. Car oils use different additives and may cause scoring in certain types of cam bearings . Do not use any oil that says Energy Conserving on the label . It will shorten the life of your wet clutch and transmission gears. If you use Synthetic oils, they will help your motorcycle run cooler and shift easier

Your Kawasaki klx125 is a four stroke motor cycle. Do not use 2 stroke oil. Use any oil that is JASO MA certified motorcycle oil . In this case use 10w-40. A synthetic oil has some benefits . Oil specifications

The motor oil from the factory is motocraft synthetic blend 5w-30 for normal conditions and motocraft synthetic blend 5w-20 for cold environments. But any synthetic blend or full synthetic of equal weight will do just fine and you will require 5 quarts of oil. DO NOT USE A THICKER WEIGHT OIL, OIL ADDITIVES OR NON SYNTHETIC. Thicker oil like 10w-30, 10w-40, 20w-50 will not be thin enough to lubericate the tighter clearences of the motor and coventional oil breaks down faster than a synthetic blend or synthetic. And be sure to change the oil every 5,000 miles

SV650S Alternative Engine Oil

Suzuki recommends the use of SUZUKI PERFORMANCE 4 MOTOR OIL or an oil which is rated SF or SG under the API (American Petroleum Institute) classification system. The viscosity rating should be SAE 10W-40. If an SAE 10W-40 oil is not available, select an alternative according to the information below: -4°F - 86°F: 10W-30 -4°F - 104°F+: 10W-40, 10W-50 6°F - 104°F+: 15W-40, 15W-50 14°F - 104°F+: 20W-50 Engine life depends on oil amount and quality. Daily oil level checks and periodic changes are two of the most important maintenance itmes to be performed.
