Question about 2003 Husaberg Fe 650 e

2 Answers

My Husaberg FS650e will not start using the electric start. I have been told this may be a combination of problems with the stator, carburator and valve clearances. The bike has only 24 hours on it and the compression is very high as I believe the engine was manufactured for super motard racing.

Is the battery fully charged.Get the battery voltage checked and confirmed. First check and make sure the starter works. You can use a jumper to bypass the solenoid and check that pretty easy. If the starter turns over when you bypass the solenoid then you'll need a meter to continue testing and find out why the solenoid isn't working. That could be wires, start button, connectors or a bad solenoid.---------Also check the electric start button, if the electric wire is getting short internally, then it can be the problem.A meter would check it, but a test light is all that you need. ---------- Listen carefully, do you hear solenoid click, when you apply electric start. You should hear the solenoid click. If there is no click, then its the cause.Either the solenoid is bad or it doesn´t get power. To check the latter, remove the left side cover, locate the starter solenoid and disconnect the trigger wire (the small one, not the big one coming from the battery).---------- Hook a multimeter between this wire and ground - with the ignition on and the switch in the run position you should see 12 V here when you push the start button (with the clutch pulled in). If you do, the problem is most likely the solenoid - make sure the other small wire is properly connected to ground.----------- But if you dont get 12 volt, then the electric start button connection needs to be checked.Check that you have 12 V on the side of the start-button that connects to the switch (with ignition on and switch in the run position), then check that you have 12 V on the other side of the start button with the button depressed. If you see 12 V on one side but not the other (button depressed) the problem is likely the start button itself.-------- This should help.Keep updated.Thanks.Helpmech.

My TG72B12 runs but does not put out any electricity. I have been told its the stator. Where can I purchase a stator for it. Motor runs great, only has 37 hours on it

Did you check the fuses, circuit breakers?
Why starting to replace things, without knowing if it is really defect?

First check all contacts, switches and cables, before doing drastically things.

Where is located the alternator poulan pro pd24ph42st

Just about all the smaller type engines the alt. can be found under the flywheel. The alt is a combination of both the flywheel and the stator ( the electrical windings ) atached to the engine block under the flywheel. Watch out...if you use a vehicle to jump your tractor, it will fry the stator if you the jumper cables on after it initially starts!

2003 Husaberg Fe 650 e no spark

Hi, Lance and the usual suspects are:
1. Fouled spark plugs.
2. Severely discharged or a damaged battery should have 12.5 volts or more and be able to pass a proper "LOAD" test if necessary, you may have a preliminary reading of 12.5 volts or more but little or zero amperage the battery is faulty and must be replaced, AGM batteries fail in this scenario more so than lead-acid batteries.
3. Check battery terminals for damage or corrosion, check the battery cables at "BOTH" ends for loose, corroded, or broken connectors, "INSIDE" and outside the cable harness, perform connector wiggle test and check cables with an ohmmeter if necessary.
4. Loose connection at ignition coil or plug between ignition sensor and module.
5. Spark plug cables in bad condition, shorting/leaking, spark plug cable connections loose check for spark leakage in the dark.
6. Faulty ignition coil or electronic control module.
7. Faulty pulse coil.
8. Faulty CKP, CMP, or BAS sensor.
9. Faulty ignition switch.
10. Faulty run/off switch
11. Tilt sensor needs a reset.
12. Security alarm failing to disarm needs reset

4. Check battery terminals for damage or corrosion, check the battery cables at "BOTH" ends for loose, corroded, or broken connectors, "INSIDE" and outside the cable harness, perform connector wiggle test and check cables with an ohmmeter if necessary.
5. Throttle controls not adjusted correctly.
6. Water or dirt in the fuel system.
7. Water or dirt in the carburetor.

Husaberg (FE 501-03)Stator problem

I have never heard of a stator preventing a motorcycle from starting. You need a professional, local, second opinion before you plunk down any bucks.

Unless that is, are you calling a magneto a stator? Does your motorcycle have a battery? If it has a battery, you probably do not have a magneto.

If you are getting a nice bright blue spark then no, the last time I had a problem like this it was sugar in my tank. If you taste a bit off your finger and it is the slightest bit sweet, then some one has sugared your tank. If so just flush the tank with a little fresh fuel and then flush the carb, and fuel lines by spinning the engine over for a bit then try to start again.
Is yours an electronic ignition or points. If points gap could be wrong or even timing slipped. That has happened to me also.

Hi Adam. Easy part first! Check locally for an electric motor specialist, who can rebuild (rewind) the stator for you. If no luck there, check out eBay for a complete motor (stator and rotor), they come along fairly often.

If this solution has assisted you, please rate it. ricardok45
