Charge battery to full, start in neutral, still clicks? Bad ground, or bad connection. Jump starter solenoid with screwdriver, etc. if motor turns over the relay is bad. Chaz Moto DC

Have you tried charging the battery or jumpstarting it with another battery?

poor connection to the starter....or bad starter

First eliminate the side stand starter cutoff switch as the cause by performing a simple continuity test on it. Side stand up, the circuit should be closed (no resistance). Side stand down, open circuit.
With that out of the way, you can test the starting motor by using a large screwdriver to bridge across the two large cable connections on the starter relay. If the starter doesn't spin (and you have confirmed that there is battery voltage to one of the large cables going to the relay) - then you've got either a bad starter motor, or a faulty cable connection between the starter and the relay.
