Sounds like the battery may not be charged. Put a charger on the battery, bring to a full charge. Try starting. If it won't crank, locate a load tester and check the battery for weakness/dead cell. If the battery is not the problem, the starter/starter solenoid may have corroded/dirty contacts.

The car leaks oil only when engine runs, intermittently,a trail of oil yesterday as moved out of garage ,today nothing .looks to be comming from valve cover, which happens routinely with these engines but...

the oil could be leaking from valve cover and sitting in a bottom engine cover(plastic covers on bottom of car) and oil trail when move, will leak more when engine hot as oil gets thinner and easier to escape. Would replace gaskep asap or will cover engine in black sticky muck which is not nice to try and clean and engine oil is not the best thing to get off your garage floor.

2007 GSXR750- The bike was stored in the garage over the winter and I started it several months ago. Now I re-charged the battery and when I turn the key to start the bike, the ignition light will not...

Recheck the battery conections, undoing them clean them and then replace them, it may be that when you put the battery on charge if you didnot remove it from the bike you may have blown the main fuse, this is not the fuse located in the fuse box, it is the fuse located at the starter solenoide, follow the poss red wire from the battery to the solenoide, here you will find where the wires attach to the solenoide, a fuse located under a plastic cover, supplys ignition power, i trust you have done a thorough test on the battery. ? I have a 2005 with only 3000 miles on it. I could not start the bike and thought my original battery was weak. I had it on a trickle charger with a green light, but as soon as I tried to start the bike a...

As this point you can't get the bike to turn over is this correct? If the engine is turning over but won't start then yes the gas is most likely the problem. Gas after sitting for even a month can evaporate from the fuel system and it leave a fouls smelling deposit behind that clogs up everything. It stinks and it's a mess to clean out. To prevent this from happening use a product that is called "Fuel Stabilizer" in the last few tanks of gas before you put the bike away for the winter or a dormant period. If the motorcycle is in a hot climate or heated garage this foul smelling gas can happen within a few weeks.

I just bought a 86 Eliminator from a guy who said the motor is locked up. I seems true but when I put it in gear I can"t push the bike with the clutch in. Could I have a problem with the clutch? 9000 miles...

the clutch may be frozen in place. try disengaging the clutch, sit on the bike, and rock it back and forth and hard as possible. this may dislodge the clutch plates. it usually happens if the bike has sat for a while

Bmw r 1100rt 1998

Check the battery with a voltmeter. If it drops below 11v while the key is on or you are trying to start it the battery is faulty. You can also try connecting jumper cables (I would do so without the donor vehicle running), if the instruments & lights work while cables are connected your battery is the problem.

Electrical Issue

Had the same problem. I had to remove battery, take apart the battery terminals, sand them a little, then put it all back together. Make sure the screw on the front of the terminal holding the inner bar in place if very tight. Have had no problem ever sense. Good luck.
