Don't put a higher amp fuse in it. check the socket to look for any burn marks first , it sounds like you have a direct short in the circuit , you'll have to trace this "hot" wire from its source to the socket itself to look for contact with a ground, this is the simple solution. if that seems ok, your going to have to check all the components that the wire travels through,, ie switch. be sure too that the Bulb itself hasnt shorted. this over site could drive you totally crazy

Sounds like you have a short to earth on the light put a meter on the socket and it will tell you yes or no if yes then trace the wiring back from the light to the switch

hope this helps

fuses blow because of dead shorts or excess current draw
to blow a 15 amp fuse indicates a dead short
by disconnecting the rear lights , the problem is in something else you have replaced

My tail light fuse on my92 s-10 just keeps on blowin and when it blows my tail lights and my inside dash lights doint work, howcome it would b doin that??

Check your tail light and other running light sockets for corrosion.
Pull each and every bulb to check it, also check the back side of the socket.
(Your headlights are not part of this circuit.)
Rust or water with rust will conduct enough current to blow the fuses.
Please revert back to the 20 amp fuse, as you may damage the wires leading to the bulbs in places you won't be able to find or fix.
It's unlikely that it's one of the actual light bulbs, all light bulbs tend to go open instead of shorted, but you can check them too.

Tail lights wont come on keeps blowing fuse blows 10 amp 15 amp and even 5 amp fuses

put a 12 volt light bulb in place of the fuse. It will stay lit until you find the short circuit. Check tail and park light & side marker bulbs first.

How about if you just turn parking lights on, not headligths

Tail light fuse keeps blowing. I have traced the wiring back to the tail lights and it all seems fine. I have taken out the turn signal lights and the light switch, put in to the first position for parking...

Are the bulbs out of the sockets and the fuse blows?
Take bulbs out and check again
Place one back at a time if fuse was OK with bulbs out to locate bad bulb.
Otherwise.......
Do this........if still needed with bulbs out and fuse blowing.
Put a circuit breaker in to replace the fuse of the same amperage.
It will trip off then back on.
Use a standard cheap magnetic compass........place along lighting wiring........the wire with current will cause the needle to jump as circuit breaker trips on and off.
Follow path of current to problem.....the compass will stop moving once past the shorted /grounded wire/connection.

10 amp fuse blows when you turn on tail lights

Check your tail lites to see if you have rust or a grounding on the hot side of the wire seating or the wrong bulb or wrong fuse.
