Hi there,i have a honda cbr 600f (1995) with a 3 month old battery,i left the bike for two and 1/2 weeks without starting it,the bike started on 1st first time, went for a long ride(60 miles).Stopped for a short break(about 15 minutes) but it took 4 or 5 attemps to restart the bike, the battery seemed fine,it did not seem to loose any power on trying to turn over the engine over. Eventually it started, i did a return trip(60 miles). The next day the bike would not start, after 3 attemps, then click, click, click. Classic flat battery, yet on testing the battery with a multimeter i got a reading of 11.84v,yet it would not turn the starting motor,i gave the battery a slow charge and it was fine(bike started 1st time;reading 14.3v when running) but after long journeys the battery dies, where do i start???? The bike is in 'showroom condition', all original, with1 previous owner,11k miles and full service history. Regards Shaun

97 Honda cbr 600f lyin up about 18 months, woz drivin perfect I charged the battery but won't start?

Hi Alan:
If the motor is turning over, first check for spark at the plugs. I'm guessing that it will be there.
Next thing will be fuel, and it's probable that the gas in the carb will have gelled. Drain/flush the carb and put fresh gas in the tank.
Odds are you'll be riding in no time.

Should my 03 honda cbr 954 stay running after I disconnect the battery? I went out of town for 2 weeks and came home to a dead battery. I jumped the bike w/my car and it started, but as soon as I...

The altenator combined with regulator should keep the engine running without a battery. It may run a bit lumpy but it should run.
You have either a regulator or an alternator fault.

I was out riding yesterday when all of a sudden my bike died all the electrics went! its a 1995 cbr 600f main fuse blew and the voltage regulator was boiling and the rubber encasing the circuits had peeled...

the regulator only keeps the voltage regulated to about 13v charge for the battery no matter what speed you ride..if the regulator did not work correctly you might start to burn out light bulbs. So when you put in the new regulator make sure your battery is at least at 12.3v minimum if not you will have to push start it and ride it for about 15 minutes on an open highway to charge the battery back up to at least 12.6v-12.7v...13v is perfect. (if none of your other fuses blew then all other electrics should work), so i would double check all of your fuses just to make sure.

Honda cbr 400 rr starting problem

i could not find a schematic of a 96 cbr400rr, so guessing this bike is not from the USA. however, there should be a master fuse near the battery on the positive side mounted to the battery box somewhere. i would check this fuse first to see if its burned out.

also, is battery fully charged? might have to top charge the battery to get good juice if its old (>3 years) and been sitting for a bit.

good luck.
