No, you will have no problems at all. In fact if you ride in very wet conditions your oil will perform better than normal 2 stroke oil. But seriously though, unless you are getting the marine oil at a very good price, you could just as well use a regular good quality 2 stroke oil, it is a few cents cheaper on the normal market. I have a 2013 evinrude etec 25 hp. It has only had less than 2 tanks of fuel ran through it. I took it out today and it would start but wouldn't stay running.

This is a 2 stroke engine - an outboard motor?

Two strokes are quite robust. The usual mistake people make with these engines (think of chainsaws, lawn mowers and hedge strimmers..) is to use car engine oil instead of the correct two stroke oil. Motor oil is completely incorrect and fouls the spark plug.

The other fault is to mix fuel and two stroke oil in the wrong ratio. Most chainsaws etc .. use a mix of 25:1 Too much oil causes oiling and misfiring of the plug. Too little oil causes excessive and fast wear.

Your engine starts up. That tends to suggest that everything is working ok up to a point.

However, look on the following link which deals with an overheating problem for that engine:

Do I use reg gas or a gas mix?

Matt, If engine is two stroke and not oil injected then yes you must mix 2 stroke oil and fuel. 4 stroke engine have a crank case which is filled to proper level with 4 stroke engine oil. Check the attached links, instruction and guides, Good luck

I have just bought a 1978 Vespa 125 px I can't get leaded petrol what can I use ?

All Vespa's old or new run without need of lead as your engine internals are lubricated by either the gear oil or 2 stroke oil.

2002 vespa px 200 seems to misfire splutter at full throttle in every gear. is this normal

no, it's not!
- do you have the later type of PX with a separate oil-tank which mixes the oil automatically to the gasoline or do you mix the two-stroke oil in a 50:1 ratio by yourself to the gasoline tank?
- if you have the 2 tank system you need to fill up the oil-tank always with two-stroke oil!
did you ever made a service on your Vespa?
like changing spark plug, replace engine oil , clean carburetor and adjust ignition etc?

Need fuel to oil ratio for husqvarna 223L trimmer

Here is the scoop copied from the Husky site:

Two-stroke oil
• For best results and performance use HUSQVARNA twostroke
engine oil, which is specially formulated for our aircooled
two-stroke engines.
• Never use two-stroke oil intended for water-cooled
engines, sometimes referred to as outboard oil (rated
TCW).
• Never use oil intended for four-stroke engines.
• A poor oil quality and/or too high oil/fuel ratio may
jeopardise function and decrease the life time of catalytic
converters.
• Mixing ratio
1:50 (2%) with HUSQVARNA two-stroke oil.
Hope this is helpful, let me know if it's not and I'll come at it some other way:)

Hi im after the fuel mixture for a 125L husqvarna straight shaft brush cutter.thanks

From you manual:
Two-stroke oil
For great results and performance use HUSQVARNA two--stroke oil, which is specially formulated for our two-stroke engines. Mixture 1:50 (2%). To maximize the life of your trimmer, you may choose to use a high quality synthetic oil formulated for two-stroke engines. Mixture 1:50 (2%). Never use two--stroke oil intended for water-cooled outboard engines, sometimes referred to as outboard oil. Never use oil intended for four-stroke engines.
WARNING! Always ensure there is adequate ventilation when handling fuel.

1 gallon of premium fuel to 2.6 ounces 2-cycle oil. 2.6 ounce pre-measured containers are available at most chainsaw outlets.
