No diagram for the serpintine belt replacement. can yougive me one? it is a 2002 Pontiac Bonneville SLE 3.8

What I will do is go to your local auto parts store like AutoZone, Advance, or PepBoys and look in the automotive repair books and look to see if you can take a pic or buying the book will be very helpful in the long run if you should have anymore trouble.

I have a 2002 chevy silverado 1500, when I start it and its cold it makes a tapping noise until it warms up. it makes the noise from the top. is this a serious problem?

Sounds like a hydraulic lifter that looses its prime while not running.

A hydraulic valve lifter transfers the rotating motion of the camshaft to the valve train, causing valves to open and close as dictated by crankshaft and ignition requirements. It operates on a cushion of oil in its bore.

It's not uncommon for this to happen, especially if this is what one might consider a "high mileage" engine. Since you've indicated it quietens down after it warms up, it shouldn't be considered a serious problem. Regularly scheduled oil and filter changes, using a good multi viscosity oil and a good oil filter can do wonders to prolong the effective life of your engine. I run Pennzoil 10w30 and Fram filters....but there are many good brands out there.

You might want to consider a good quality oil additive....it might improve the situation.

Personally, I'm partial to Lucas Oil products. These are available in most auto parts stores, and I've also seen it in WalMart (usually a little cheaper).

In any event....good luck!

Where is the oil pressure sending unit located on 3800 engine and how to replace?

Take the passenger front wheel off. Look up under the car by the power steering pump, you'll see the sending unit, it's up and back from where the oil filter is. There is a special GM oil sending unit socket, I'm sure you will be able to buy or barrow one from your local parts store! Make sure to have a catch pan under it when you take it out, they can leak a good amount of oil out when you remove it.

Can't remove the oil filter to change on 2002 dodge stratus

take a long screwdriver and drive it througfh the oil filter, then turn the filter off, they also make a special tool to grip the the outside of the oil filter and remove it, it is kind of a clamping wrench, any auto parts store will have one, they come in all sizes so ask before you buy it, they cost about $5 for a cheap one and $20 for a really good one.
