I have a 2002 FLHRSEI. Out of the blue when I start it the engine runs for about 2 seconds, then it shuts down. I can restart it with out cycling the ignition switch off then on agian, and it shuts down in 2 seconds agian. I just changed the engine oil and filter to Mobile 1 full synthetic, I also installed new plugs. I had used HD360 organic for the first 35,000 miles. But, I rode it for about 150 miles after the service work, parked it and now it does not run. I replaces the relay (P/N31511-01B) and this did not fix it. Can you help? This model is not available in your "choose a model" pull down menue. This is the first screaming eagle road king, it came from the CVO factory with EFI, cruse control and security.

No, that is not normal. You need to make sure that the bike is up to operating temps and level both times

Same oil filter, you're good to go, not to worry. As for the drain plug, I torque everything that calls for torques. If you don't have a torque wrench, be careful when you put it on, you don't want to over torque your aluminum case...you'll strip it, and wish you had spent the money on the torque wrench. If you plan on doing any work on your bike, get a good torque wrench. It will pay for itself and give you ease of mind knowing the job is done right.

Leaf blower starts run for 3-4 min then shut down.Once cool off will restart what to do

If you are saying that it is getting hot and shutting down this could mean trouble.
Is this a 2-cycle engine (gas+oil mixture for fuel)?, If so, are you using the right mixture with good 2-cycle oil (NOT regular oil)?

Maybe the cause is not that it is getting hot but that the fuel delivery is getting clogged. Have you replaced the fuel filter (probably in-tank) recently, and have you made sure that the carburetor/intake is tight and that the air filter is clean?

2002 dodge durango 4.7 shuts down with no codes after first run of the day. Starts for 30 seconds and shuts off after that.

No codes ???? Just OBD2 engine codes or full vehicle scan ? BCM - body control module DTC'S - diagnostic trouble code's > Or u code's - communication network codes . A control module on the way out will cause network communication problems . Or anti-theft system problem . This will have you going round in circles - Suspect some intermittent wiring or ground issue.... Voltage drop test main power an grounds .

McCullough chainsaw runs backwards at start up in idle. What is the cause ?

2 cycle engines can do this. The engine backfires when starting and it runs in the wrong direction. Shut it down and restart it.

Initially ran rough blew blue smoke from exhaust, smelled like rotten eggs and died. After several starts it kept running fine until 15 miles down the road the engine killed while at highway speed. After...

If it's blue smoke, your burning oil. Get the head gasket checked. If that's ok your looking at something more serious, (more expensive), inside the engine.

2002 toyota solara idles low and shuts off, engine was just replaced

Try this

Engine stalling and rough run issue at low speeds

This problem is commonly caused by a dirty automatic idle speed control valve and throttle valve. Buy a can of throttle valve cleaner (do not use carburetor spray cleaner!) from NAPA or Carquest (made by CRC chemicals) and spray it into the air intake while the engine is running, use up about 1/2 the can, engine will try to stall hold the speed up, shut it down and let it soak for 30 minutes, restart and blow out the remaining fluid, shut it down and disconnect the negative battery cable for 5 Min's to reset the base idle control

Engine keeps shutting down

Most Honda engines have an oil pressure switch that prevents engine damage due to low/no oil pressure. Make sure there is sufficient oil in the engine and that the wire is connected to the pressure switch.

2002 Regal - Engine kills right after starting cold.

There are 3 things that cause this, 1st and most common is a dirty idle speed control valve, 2nd is carbon on the back of the intake valves, last but not least is the wrong octane of fuel, if it requires 89 Octane and 91 or 92 is used the engine will stall code.

To clean the dirty idle control valve follow this procedure:
Here is the most common cause of surges and stalls, it is the idle speed control air-bypass valve and throttle valve, they get full of gunk over the miles and cause idle issues (stalls) like yours, Get a can of intake cleaner from any local parts store, not carb spray, intake cleaner, it is made by a company called CRC, remove the air intake hose to the engine, hold the idle high so the engine won't stall, then spray the can of cleaner into the intake while keeping the engine running, use at least 1/2 the can, shut down the engine and disconnect the battery for 5 minutes, then restart and complete a number of mixed driving cycles, town, freeway, stop and go etc., after a few days the problem will go away as the system will relearn to the clean intake.
