YZF R125 Engine Management light on, but engine runs ok.

I had this exact problem with my r125. My speedo just read 0 and warning light came on. This is caused by a faulty speedo cable. You need to unclip it from under the clocks (the white connector running to the side of the front wheel) and take the front wheel off. Then replace the speedo sensor with a "new" one (quite fiddly to put all back together). Got mine off eBay for just a few pounds. When it's all back together, the warning light will still be on, but when you ride off and the speedo reads something other than 0, the light will go off, and problem solved! When your wheel is off, take the time to re lube the axle, makes putting the axle back in so much easier and your front wheel will turn so smoothly and freely. Make sure you keep note of how the spacer goes in, and I'd get a friend to help support the wheel as you put it back in, makes it so much easier as it's quite fiddly by yourself.

Yzf r125 headlight bulb replacement

Simple. Remove the screw holding the bezel of the headlight (the chrome ring around the outside of the headlight), lift up from the bottom, the bezel is held on by a tab on the top. Disconnect the plug on the back of the light. Don't worry it can only go on and off one way. If you have the old old type you replace the whole light, most likely it just a bulb, which you move the rubber boot out of the way and turn to disconnect. When you put a new bulb in be oh so careful to not touch the glass on the new bulb-oil on your fingers will cause the new bulb to blow the second you turn it on. IF you do accidentally touch it, wipe it off with alcohol. I wipe them off anyway, why not. Twist back in and re assemble.

Engine fault

Check compression first and if over 125psi then look for problem in the caruration system. Check for a clogged or gummed up main jet. Clean good and set to factory specs and should be ready to good. Also install a new spark plug!

How to change gearbox and engine oil

There is a sump plug located at the bottom of the engine. It is very tight. Make sure you have the correct size socket to remove the plug. Use a suitable oil pan under the bike before removing the plug. Once the plug is removed and the oil is drained, stand the bike upright to get the last of the oil out. Get the correct oil, about 1 litre, replace the plug and fill the bike to the correct level using a funnel. Stand the bike upright to check oil level. Do not screw oil dip stick in to test the level.
