1992 Yamaha XJ 600 Diversion S "gear" Questions

I have a 1994 Yamaha xj600 diversion when i put it on the center stand and put into first gear the rear wheel jerks and cluncks has any one got any ideas? Many thanks yes that is normal as when you do
