need to know what to set valves at on a 2002yamaha v-star 1100 I use a standard setting of .003" on the intake valve, and .005" on the exhaust valve. Works really well 99% of the time.

noise,i suspect it to be a bad valve spring but not sure. It won't be a bad spring if the bike runs well. It is probably just a tappet out of adjustment. Set the valve clearances. Use only premium gas
