Take handle off it has set screw that holds it on top of faucet after handle is off it has a locking collar they may have it to tight you can get a little wrench from hardware store that turns it. most are plastic so be careful if you try to move it you may try a little at a time to see if it free's up.

Yes, go to HD or Lowe's and buy a new one. Be sure to take the old one for comparison.

Be sure you have the right kit for your faucet. I think there are two types of springs. I usually leave the ball adjustment loose, and tighten the cap. Then I use that little spanner wrench to tighten the ball. Have you used the little wrench to tighten?

Is the kitchen faucet the only problem? If not, then the water heater or other problem may exist in the water system.When you run the hot water, are the particles always coming out or do they go away after while?Black particles can be caused by carbon water filters. Do you have a filter? Those particles stop over time. Washers and "O" rings that are wearing out can cause black particles. I would check under the sink to see if you have any slow drips. You may see white, green or black colors along the fittings.I've also seen black particles from algae in the line. Maybe there's a leak somewhere in the system that dripping and cause the algae to form? Inspect your water lines and checking for leaks anywhere in the system may help. If you turn off all your faucets, washer, hose bibs and check the water meter, is it still moving? Could be a loose supply connection or worn, "O" rings in the faucet body.

Shut off main water to home. Then check if a clip is guarding the nut to nut threaded connection the use 2 wrenches to un screw.Cover tools "teeth" with tape or thin rubber to prevent marking on chrome/etc finishes.

Take the handle off.. there is a set screw under the handle...
Then turn the top off...
Take out the ball... observe the position of it...
Then use a very small screw driver to remove the old springs and seats and install new ones...
then replace the ball, top and handle...

This problem exists when the seats get wore a and there is no resistance to shut water off. Replace the seats and springs to correct this problem. Shut water off and remove handle with a allen wrench and retaining collar to expose the valve body to gain access. Once apart remove seats and springs and reassemble and problem should go away.

Are you sure there is not a second set screw in the same hole. You could have only removed the locking screw and a second screw is behind the top screw.

Go ahead and buy the new hose ant it will come with installation instructions and you will see how it comes apart at that joint.

You need to buy the internal replacement kit.
The seal has jambed (sliped out of place) on the hot water side.

you need to leave the hose go down the hole and feed it back through when your done
